Victor Li, son of the famed Chinese billionaire Li Ka-shing, is poised to take control of Canada's flag airline, Air Canada, by plunking down more than a half billion dollars. "
PTTTTT, don't I remember seeing this name involved with Global Crossings?

Yes, you did. The Li name and bloodline is a PREMIER Chinese family. Strong Government ties, major money, well connected and have their hands in everything.

That makes Air Canada an extension of the Chinese military.

PTTTTT, don't I remember seeing this name involved with Global Crossings? Yep. Li Ka Shing owns Hutchison Whampoa. They and Singapore Telemedia (STT) bid on GX. There were concerns about Ka Shing being involved in the world's only "true" worldwide network that carries DOD traffic. So, Ka Shing pulled out, tho MANY suspect he is highly involved "behind the scenes" with STT (who now owns something like 62% of GX).
