Well, I've never given much credence to any warnings from AQ. They hit us on 9-11 without any public warnings and look what they accomplished. They've never broadcast their moves before. Why now if they're serious?

It is just possible that they are doing what other posters have said which is to have so many of these warnings out there that folks don't pay attention. The other purpose of these post could be for surveillance of our Homeland Security response. Maybe they are watching how we increase security or if we even take extra precautions, what agencies get involved, etc. Could be it's a new way of "fact finding" for them.

Sadly, I must disagree. The Port of Seattle and all of Puget Sound are almost impossible to defend against sneaky terrorists. Ashcroft and Ridge were out here not long ago wringing their hands. The port, M'soft, Boeing are very attractive targets, and we've debated the danger to ferries here before. 3000 possible victims at rush hour, no need for expensive planning and coordination and boarding planes with hard-to-conceal boxcutters. Just drive onto a ferry with a trunkload of explosives and either bang! or a hostage nightmare. But I think this message refers to WA D.C.

Again, Russia and China could dictate terms to a wounded USA standing naked without NATO backing.

Neither of these countries would risk nuclear annihilation to try and dictate terms to us. If they did, they would lose the major market for all their goods. Don't think for one second we would not use the nuclear option. Mutually Assured Destruction is a lose-lose proposition for all.
