[history]
Monday, November 3, 2003
A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.
The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?
The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.
Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.
DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.
Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

I remember the story, but it just disappeared from the news. I just figured if there were anything to the stories we just let loose with a few torpedoes and took care of the problem quietly.

Yep, but she was sidelined er "detained" on a number of sites. If I remember correctly Salah Aldeen was in Germany, I think it was maybe in May. I'd have to go back and google that, but I remember seeing it on a "demolish" list around June or so, but who can say?

Question is does "standard discharge" mean it was destroyed or simply that it isn't registered anymore.
If it's just not registered anymore then it could be anywhere.

Subject: The system of government in Iraq after Saddam disappearance*
The system of government in Iraq after Saddam disappearance*
My friends, the big problem of government in Iraq (And all Arabic countries) is holding the power by only one man.
The leader, king, prince or any thing else.
Saddam has many titles.
In the new system in Iraq (After Saddam disappearance) I hope that we can reverse this.
I hope we will have one title for many men!!!
This is the idea:
We crate a council with 5 members under this title: Member of government council.
Each member will be come president of the council and the country (Iraq) for one month.
Each member has the right to stay in the council for 5 years.
Each member represents some governances of Iraq maybe like this:
Area No.1 Alslaimany, Arbil, Dhok and Kurkuk.
Area No.2 Nainwa, Salah Aldeen and Alanbar.
Area No.3 Baghdad, Daila and Babil.
Area No.4 Wastt, Alqadsai, Karblaa and Alnajaf
Area No.5 Almothana, Theqar, Mesan and Albasra.
I love to discuss this Idea with you if you are interesting please post your comments in my group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/iraq_4all/
Thanks

I believe it is a good thing for Iraq to have as many states as possible. This post mentions 5 areas with regions within each area.
I'd prefer to see each area be a state.
It will provide for greater diversity of opinion, and in the long run, that's best for a republic. It brings more representatives to the national legislature, whatever form it takes.

"What was Debka's source?"
===
It definitely wasn't Daleel (see Debka text below) -- but I wouldn't make any large bets that it wasn't the other way around. Daleel seems to be getting delusions of grandeur. (See Layout Guru2's post no. 1299.
