One glitch I have discovered is that Marine Aquarium 2.0 Screen blanker's column of bubbles displays as a white funnel... no bubbles. Better download a patch.

you show off.
All I have is my my H-P Pavilion 2.5mhz PC with 80GB of hard drive, DVD player and CD burner with 17" monitor...
and now you make me feel bad by showing off.
OK, not really. Sounds like a great computer.
I got my first $150 rebate check today, less than 6 weeks after buying the computer.

OSX Panther
To: Fred Mertz
As a G5 owner, the upgrade was $19.95 for me.
To: Swordmaker
Why 'Panther'?
did it come with a panther background or something?

Why 'Panther'? Good question... for some reason Apple started code naming their new releases after big cats... OS X.2 was "Jaguar" and the box and CD featured a Jaguar skin printed X... Panther has a black box and black CDs.

*sigh* I'm wondering when I'll be able to scare up the $120 to upgrade my G4. (Or is it $150?)

does it look substantially different from Windows? I've seen some Linux screenshots and was actually impressed, especially by the 'image editor' named, oddly, GIMP
If I ever go Linux, I'll definitely want that.
screenshots?

That looks nice. So the desktop spins around and assumes the new users' settings? That must look neat.

As a G5 owner Okay, now we really hate you.

does it look substantially different from Windows? It's what Microsoft was lamely trying to make Windows XP look like.
I've seen some Linux screenshots and was actually impressed, especially by the 'image editor' named, oddly, GIMP
OS X is not Linux. It is an advanced user interface sitting on top of BSD Unix. You may be able to recompile GIMP for it though, I'm not sure.
To: Swordmaker
Please update on your observations. We're all jealous. ; - )
P.S. Will it work on my little ole I-Book?
