~The Dragon Flies Lair III~
October 18, 2003 | bentfeather

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guides
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Bad news from Evanescence.com:

"Ben Moody has left the Evanescence tour and returned home. The band will continue touring without Ben and have brought in a guitarist to fill the spot. The tour will continue as planned when the band returns to the States. Please stay tuned to evanescence.com for additional information and updates as they're available."

Back several years ago Ben and Amy formed the band, and originally it was just the two of them.

Oh dang, you know Dark I had their CD in my hand last night. I was all prepared to buy, because I could not find the Phil Collins CD I wanted. Oh well, I can still buy the CD before they are sold out.

I lost my life, my soul, that night
It hurt so much to say goodbye
Nothing will ever be the same
Life is nothing without change
Shifting sands can bring pain
But all I want is your love tonight
Unchain my heart and let it fly
I wish to hear you call my name
But our reunion I can't arrange
And I'm left here in the rain
I lost my life, my soul, that night
It hurt so much to say goodbye
All I'm left is your stone carved name
Hating that everything must change
Standing alone, so alone, crying in the rain.

Yeah.
I have their 'retail' album.
That website I linked you to all that time ago?
The website owner closed it down in a snit because Ben left the band.
That was the only place I could find for the older Evanescence stuff, especially since you can't buy their older stuff anywhere.

Hi Flurry,

Heres a fast explantion of my obsession, ...er, hobby!

Trike: A three wheel motorcycle built around an automobile V-8 engine, equipped with an auto-transmission and usually a 9" ford rear end. Often the front fork is a beefed up H.D. motorcycle unit, though for larger systems I build a custom rig. Equipped with a 22 gallon fuel cell and some care on the throttle, 35-40 MPG is possible for a working range of about 770-880 miles per tank for good commuter mileage. Oh yes, and on top is often found a loose nut at the controls!

There's one in my area of New York.
It's kinda a maroonish red.
Seen some crazy guy and his girl riding it.
Lotsa chrome, to my eyes.

You're too important for anyone
You play the role of all you want to be
But I, I know who you really are
You're the one who cries when you're alone

[CHORUS:]
But where will you go
With no one left to save you from yourself
You can't escape
You can't escape

You think that I can't see right through your eyes
Scared to death to face reality
No one seems to hear your hidden cries
You're left to face yourself alone

[Chorus]
But where will you go
With no one left to save you from yourself
You can't escape the truth

I realize you're afraid
But you can't abandon everyone
You can't escape
You don't want to escape

I'm so sick of speaking words that no one understands
Is it clear enough that you can't live your whole life all alone
I can hear you in a whisper
But you can't even hear me screaming

[Chorus]
But where will you go
With no one left to save you from yourself
You can't escape the truth

I realize you're afraid
But you can't reject the whole world
You can't escape
You won't escape
You can't escape
You don't want to escape

In the gardens of night
near the castle of the hill
I heard the call of you
in the wind from a thousand
lonely nights of Goth Land
while the gargoyles hissed
from Hell's hot gate
a cry of agony in the night

The Black Rose of Love
fell at my feet
I amazed, stooped to
pick it up
when music
from the cathedral drifted
over the dark and dank moors
shadows moved in darkest night
odors arose from the damp
wetness and cold feelings
of death surrounded
the garden of Medieval Ages
and a metamorphose
began taking place on
the land...

Snow, white snow covered
the Castle Grand of Medieval Land
a Black Rose faded to blue
I knew then
I had lost you...

John Maynard Keyes said, "Words ought to be a little wild for they are the assault of thought on the unthinking."
