CMG ISSUES 10 QUESTIONS THAT MAKE SCHWARZENEGGER HIDE Arnold May Not Give a "S-t" But Millions of Californians Do

Anaheim, CA - Californians for Moral Government (CMG), a religious conservative organization started by Rev. Louis P. Sheldon, issued a list of questions today which the organization wants to ask gubernatorial candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"Mr. Schwarzenegger has said very little in public about the important moral issues," said Rev. Sheldon. "And what he has said is outrageous."

Rev. Sheldon cited a quote which appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle concerning Schwarzenegger's position on homosexuality.

"When it comes to sex, I don't give a s--t what anyone's trip is," Schwarzenegger is quoted by the Chronicle.

"Schwarzenegger may not care about homosexuality, same-sex marriage and adoption but millions of Californians do," said Rev. Sheldon. "And we plan to force him to address these issues and not run from them as he did last week."

Rev. Sheldon said his organization had been contacted by network producers and other journalists who solicited questions for Schwarzenegger interviews.

"Today we are releasing these questions and asking reporters not to let the Terminator hide or say 'hasta la vista' to the truth," said Rev. Sheldon.

The 10 CMG questions are:

1. The San Francisco Chronicle quotes you as saying "When it comes to sex, I don't give a s-t what anyone's trip is."

Mr. Schwarzenegger, what are your views on homosexual marriage and adoption?

2. Which moral issues do you care about?

3. Mr. Schwarzenegger, you have been quoted in the media on the cloning issue saying: -- "At the moment, they're dealing with it by putting the religious spin on it. I understand that; there are some people who are religiously fanatic, that feel uncomfortable with it. But I think that's also a mistake."

Are Californians who oppose abortion, cloning and related matters religious fanatics?

4. What is your position on parental consent on abortion?

5. What is your position on laws which brand some religious beliefs and practices as "hate crimes"?

6. Who are the top two or three religious leaders who reflect your world view and why?

7. Governor Gray Davis signed a bill which granted transgendered men and women and cross-dressers special rights in the workplace?

What is your position and what would you have done as Governor?

8. We applaud your commitment to after-school programs for children. But what about during the school day? Gray Davis signed AB 196 a bill which would find school districts, child day care facilities, gender sensitive occupations, and businesses guilty of employment discrimination should they refuse to hire men dressed as women, for example.

Would you veto such harmful legislation as Governor?

9. Governor Pete Wilson vetoed a bill which recognized so-called "domestic partnerships".

Would you do the same as Governor?

10. In his 1986 State of the Union address, Ronald Reagan called abortion "a wound in the national conscience." And in one speech he asked, "Until someone can prove the unborn child is not a life, shouldn't we give it the benefit of a doubt and assume that it is?"

Do you agree with Ronald Reagan? For more information or to arrange an interview with Rev. Sheldon, please call James Lafferty, (703) 931-2324.

And the relevance to this topic is....*tapping foot, waiting*
Or is this the precursor to another round of adjective vitriol? (When you can't fight the rationales of your opponents, name-call and "out" them?)

Ok, so you admit you'd never heard of the guy until he filed. So most other people you had talked to hadn't either. Again, so what? Your study isn't scientific nor wide-ranging I imagine, so what does it prove? It proves that his advertising campaign hadn't gotten to you, yet, is all. And I really see nothing wrong with anyone (even those people YOU hadn't heard of) running for public office. The converse of that is a bit silly, don't you think? (And how many people advertise before they file? Hint: not many!)

Is Lou Sheldon on Gray Davis's payroll? If Arnold Schwarzeneger's campaign falters, it's Gray Davis who benefits. Bill Simon, the Rev. Sheldon's choice in 2002, waged such a dumb campaign that he guaranteed Davis's reelection. We have to face the truth: California is not a conservative state. You don't like it, and I don't like it, but it's the fact and we have to work with that. People who always take an all-or-nothing approach usually wind up with nothing. Whatever Schwarzeneger's imperfections are, he's far preferable to Gray Davis.
