Map Shows States With Most Early Voters So Far
Newsweek ^ | October 26, 2026 | Alice Gibbs

Over 28 million Americans have already cast ballots in the 2026 midterms with just over a week until Election day, according to data from The University of Florida Election Lab.

The Election Lab tracks voting by mail and in-person, with many thousands of ballots cast in key battleground states like Michigan and Ohio.

Early voting for the upcoming election is outpacing 2022 numbers. An Associated Press (AP) analysis found early voting was up 74 percent in Texas compared to at the same point in 2022, while Kansas had more than doubled its total of early ballots. Maine, North Carolina and Ohio have also seen increases of more than 30 percent in early in-person and mail voting.

But while early voting is soaring when compared with the last midterms in 2022, it is important to remember that the majority will vote in person on the day, meaning that even with higher early voting numbers conclusions cannot be drawn about results at this stage.

Useless info. They don’t know how people are voting.

There are 435 House races. Every district is different. Most are safe seats.

Probably only a dozen or more toss ups or open seats. Then there is the redistricting in TX and FL and others.

It would make more sense if it was a map of percentage of early vote with respect to the vote eligible population of the state.

And earlier I read that the early turnout in PA and Ohio were favoring Republicans.

At this point, I am tuning out. Very few results will surprise me. Blue wave, I could see it. Republicans hold, I could see it. Red wave? That would be a shock.

I believe red is way ahead of blue in fla early voting. There’s a pretty big indie vote so red is not a sure thing, but I believe it will go red. There is so much misinformation and AI slop out there this year that its hard to get a valid handle on what’s really going on...I’ve been researching for last few days and I feel confident we keep the Senate, but the House is gonna be close.

Republicans today took the lead in Florida early voting. There is no blue wave happening there. Is there a way you can correct your information?

I wonder how much other information you posted is incorrect.

Republicans have only 220 seats and a majority is 218. They can lose 2 seats and that is it. It will be a miracle if they keep the House.

I was reading earlier this morning that we may pick up a few unexpected House seats in California due to Trump’s deportation efforts. Of course they can cheat in other ways, but it gave me a glimmer of hope...

Reistered Democrats are known to be voting, but you are correct. They could be voting for Republicans.
