A new poll suggests Medicare for All could benefit Republicans in some of the country's most competitive House races, especially as progressive Democrats increasingly embrace the idea.
The survey, conducted by Republican polling firm FabrizioWard on behalf of Seniors Matter for America, found that voters in battleground congressional districts would favor a Republican candidate by a 50 percent to 38 percent margin if the Democratic candidate supported replacing existing health coverage with a government-run system.
The poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters across 37 House districts rated Toss Up, Lean Republican, or Lean Democrat by the Cook Political Report between August 31 and September 2.
“Health care is intensely personal,” Michael Fahey, CEO of Fahey Communications and a political strategy expert, told Newsweek. “If voters hear reform and think lower costs or greater access, that can be attractive. If they hear reform and think losing their current insurance, changing doctors or handing over control of a system they already know, the politics change very quickly.”

If an offer comes from the government saying, “we are here to help you.” voters, even the democrap ones, know better since the government effs up everything it touches.

Medicare pays Drs, etc. less than 50% of the bills. The medical industry would collapse under Medicare for All.
None of them are really worth a damn. Take that position from the outset and be prepared to be surprised but not very often. I’ll gladly apologise and eat crow if I ever find I was wrong. So far, I’m still waiting.
My guess is that most Doctors will relocate to Cancun.
Americans will have to pay $$$ (in cash) to get a procedure done.
Once they became eligible to benefit, they signed on to a sizeable monthly premium - not nearly as large as regular insurance but most of them only receive modest monthly Social Security benefits, out of which their monthly premium is automatically deducted.
When beneficiaries use medical services they often pay copays - usually modest copays but not always.
Medicare For All is nothing like that. It is free universal health care for everyone, including non citizens - everyone. If you can't afford any monthly premium or copays, you go on 'Medicaid for all' which is free healthcare!
In Canada, for example,that is long waiting periods for simple procedures, often high copays with the voluntary alternative of euthanasia.
Medicare is - so far - nothing like that. 🚧
Duh!! Bribery usually works great! (Especially when doing it with “OPM”: “Other People’s Money”)(Taxpayers).
Doing it would almost double the $40 Trillion national debt in less than 10 years! (And jump the resulting inflation a lot).

Yep, I was just going to ask what if a family couldn’t/wouldn’t pay the $203.00/pp current Medicare premium (and annual deductible). What would the “Family” “M4A” premium be per month? $500.-750. per month? It would explode the “Medicaid for All” rolls and cost my previously mentioned minimum of $32 Trillion over 10 years (probably more).
It would be yet another arrow in the neck of America.
The social security unfunded liability over the next 75 years is about $25 trillion. As everyone knows, it will be unable to pay full benefits in about 5 years.
Medicare’s unfunded liabilities are estimated at roughly $52–65 trillion over the next 75 years.
So, yeah, let’s expand Medicare to include everybody in the country instead of just the elderly - how could that possibly go wrong? /s
We need to start breaking in AI doctors immediately to save costs. Plus they would be smarter than human doctors anyway so why not use them?

My payment for Part B runs over $2,400/year.
That means Part B (practitioners & injectable drugs) runs $12,000/year/average recipient.
Your claim would put your estimated cost at over $24,000/year/recipient on average.
Dairy farmers were putting recombinant drugs in cows to make them produce more milk.
Medicare is also not a free benefit when you reach 65, between what gets deducted from my Social Security check and my supplemental insurance premium, I’m paying nearly $600/month for healthcare.
I believe a lot of people think, once people reach 65 and go on Medicare it’s free, it’s not and it’s going to be a shock for a lot of people.
I don’t understand why Republicans don’t tie the clamor for “Medicare for All” to “Medicare for Illegal Aliens.”
Aren’t the two the same things? The democrats have long supported health care for illegals.
Would Americans be getting significantly more care under Medicare for All?
Probably not.
Would Medicare for All be paying providers more than insurers?
Probably not.
Why would you expect Medicare for All to cost substantially more?
All that would really change are the paths of money flow.
Now: employers + employees->insurance companies->providers
Medicare for All: employers + employees->IRS->Treasury->CMS->insurance companies->providers
