Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud told Christian resident Ted Barham "you are not welcome here" during a September 2025 city council meeting after Barham objected to street signs honoring journalist Osama Siblani, who has praised Hezbollah and Hamas. Hammoud added that the day Barham moves out of the city would be marked by a celebratory parade and labeled him a "bigot," "racist," and "Islamophobe."

We can, but it’ll take guys like us to be made uncomfortable. When that happens, it’ll be an epic turn-around. I always agree with lefties when they say we need to defund the police. They’re surprised when I say that, but totally get it when I follow-up with, “that way there is nothing standing between you and me.”
