I had to sign up for a google account to view a document by a former employer(edu) well over a decade ago. I have received notifications over the years that my account is going to be canceled because of lack of use. I just got another termination notice for the 5th or 6th time. LOL

Good for you. Avoid thy google.
Last night I tried logging into Google for the first time in two years on a different device. Google said no way even though I gave the last password I had wrote down. I don’t get it.
LOL ... they already assigned it to bots.
In summary, we must all make sure that we are logged in.
I haven’t logging into the google account in over a dozen years. I have been retired that long. I never used it for email, just to view a document. Every 2 years I get notifications that my account is going to be deleted for lack of use. Just got another notice that my account has ben deleted. LOL
Your Google account or your FR account?
Ignore my previous post. It’s not surprising that your Google account maybe deleted if not used for a long time.
My take is there is some software glitch that has prevented my google account from being deleted over 10 years ago...
I did the same recently. had the right name and password but NOPE, google wanted phone numbers, addresses, etc.
They SUCK..
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
That seems to the case...
And your car warranty is about to expire................
Never have signed up for any free email that wants a phone number, so instead I give a backup email account. So eventually I get notice of strange behavior on my new account.
By then my backup account says I need a backup account.
I’m now blocked from 3 email accounts, and my 2 backup accounts which worked fine before becoming connected to gaggle, so I’m done with them.
Evidently, my google account never does. Upon further reflection. It seems like my former employer got me stuck in an endless loop..
Goopgle is evil.
About 12 years ago I helped an older fellow with his email, logging into his email on my computer. He’s since passed away.
I was required (because of the internet/streaming service that our condo signed up for) to have a goople mail account.
So, under deep personal discomfort, I did create one.
Any thing I send out now goes to the recipient with the name of the dead person I once helped out 12 years ago.
I’ve tried everything to change it. I even grokked asking how to fix it and did all the half dozen or so suggestions. But nope, Google knows best; I’m a dead guy.
All those mega-wear companies are bad to some extent. But gooople is by far, BY FAR, the worst.
That is a weird one...
