Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is still railing against the Electoral College, which cost her the presidency in 2016, calling it an "abomination" in a trailer for the new Netflix docuseries titled "The American Experiment."
In a trailer for the upcoming series, which is executive-produced by Tom Hanks, Clinton remarks, "Well, I personally think the Electoral College is an abomination. For obvious reasons."
Set to drop today, the new five-part docuseries marks 250 years of U.S. independence by examining "how American democracy has been built, challenged, and reimagined" over the course of its centuries-long history, according to Netflix’s Tudum. In addition to Clinton, the series will feature interviews with dozens of politicians and historians, including former Vice Presidents Kamala Harris, Mike Pence and Al Gore, as well as Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
The push for abolishing the Electoral College, which was instituted in 1787, has gained increased support in some corners of the left, especially after Clinton’s 2016 loss to President Donald Trump. Though Clinton won the national popular vote, Trump secured several key swing states that gave him the Electoral College edge, sending him to the White House.
After her loss, Clinton lambasted the system, calling it "the god-forsaken Electoral College" in her 2017 memoir "What Happened." In an interview with CNN host Anderson Cooper, Clinton reaffirmed her call to abolish the Electoral College, referring to it as "an anachronism that was designed for another time" that "no longer works."

And she will NEVER be President, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
Cankles is the abomination and needs to just assume room temperature and then head to infernal regions where she belongs. Forgive me, I hope her passing when it comes is painful.
“the god-forsaken Electoral College”
She wants three or four cities or states to control the US - blue cities and blue states.
The White House said otherwise...
The fact that she will never be president obviously gnaws at her every waking minute gives me a certain sense of satisfaction.
LOL someone remind that stupid cow that in 2024 Trump won BOTH the electoral college AND the popular vote
If there are no Federal Election standards. There is NO STANDING for people who question if Candidates, or Elections, are fair and not tampered with. This has been decided by the courts. So, NO, you can’t ask if it’s ok. You can’t ask for Voter rolls, so each state can just make up voters! Further, you could easily Register Mickey Mouse, because no one could check. Don’t clean the voting ross because Why not have the Dead Vote....in every district? An idiot can see that States could claim Tens of Millions of votes and Voters so each state could effectively decide an Federal election.
That’s why the Popular Vote shouldn’t matter, because each state would just Rig the numbers entirely. Hillary doesn’t mind rigged primaries or rigged elections.
Like we want NY and CA determining who will be President?
I would prefer to go the other direction like Maine and Nebraska with two at-large electoral votes for the winner of the state plus one in each congressional district. That way, stuffing the ballot boxes in Chicago might only steal a handful of electors instead of a whole state's worth. To get more, she would have to cheat in areas without complete legislative, executive and judicial controls and be more likely to get caught.
Her is a piehole that will never be closed. I’m sure after she finally takes the dirt nap there will be an AI telling us what Hillary would think about every-damn-thing. And it will all be posted on FR.
The reason for the Electoral College is the same as when our Republic was founded. It keeps Presidential elections from being determined by just a few large population states disenfranchising voters in a majority of states
Even without cheating, states can adjust their voting requirements. Imagine if California dropped the voting age to 13. They would get many more popular votes without an increase in real popularity.
You don’t “. . . Imagine how American democracy was built” by interviewing media talking heads, politicians, academics, and other self-assumed elites who actually live in a feudal world of unearned privilege.
You talk to real people, farmers, soldiers, mechanics, mothers, who without fancy pedigrees or inherited or stole millions can be more articulate on what makes/made America great.
Any show produced by leftist Tom Hanks will be a duplicate of the faux documentaries of leftist Ken Burns. I’m sure half the show will be about racism.
I love the fact that there will never be a Hillary Clinton Presidential Library.
The Electoral College is essential because it serves as a firewall against election fraud in individual states.
Good to know HC is still a miserable, evil ####.
Yet without the Electoral College Bill Clinton would not have won in 1992.
He only got 43% of the popular vote.
I know she likes to play the victim and say she wuz robbed by various nefarious forces, but the fact is that she overperfomed in the popular vote in some of her big states. Take out the California vote entirely as if the place never existed, and she would have had less of the national popular vote than Trump did, not to mention even the electoral college vote, which is what counts.
Thank heavens that a popular vote landslide in places such as California doesn’t necessarily result in a person being elected president.
Sorry, toots. That’s the way the system works, and that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
