The once-venerable news program “60 Minutes” is in a state of tumult these days, to put it lightly.
The show’s parent network, CBS News, has undergone drastic changes under the new leadership of editor-in-chief Bari Weiss — and “60 Minutes” has been no exception to the general overhaul as Weiss tries to make the network more centrist.
(Both CBS News and “60 Minutes” had long been accused of veering to the far left.)
Among a litany of smaller changes, the biggest changes that Weiss has been making to “60 Minutes” have largely been with the staffing.
The most notable of that staffing change came when longtime “60 Minutes” journalist Scott Pelley was recently fired after he apparently exploded at the new show boss, who had been handpicked by Weiss.
That marked the biggest name to become a casualty of Weiss’ restructuring, which naturally led to questions about what would be in store for some of the show’s other longtime faces: Bill Whitaker, Lesley Stahl, and Jon Wertheim.
Whitaker, Stahl, and Wertheim answered those questions, releasing a joint statement about what their futures on the show would be:

The ego and over inflated sense of self importance with these people is unbelievable.
They really think the show and network will collapse if they aren’t there.
If it were me I’d fire all their asses for that reason alone.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, I present Exhibit A!
I would have too. Escort them out of the building and tell them we will send your personal stuff via FedEx.............
Lesley Stahl is 84 years old. What a pity if she leaves and the Republic is denied the benefit of her smug self-righteous idiocy for whatever years she has left.
Don’t make me laugh.
Don’t let the screen door hit ya where the good Lord splitcha.
MFO
They need to clean house at SeeBS Sunday Morning. Same attitude as the old agers at 60 minutes.
When I was a child, a television station decided to let its employees go home on Christmas Eve to be with their families. The station broadcast a loop of a yule log burning in a fireplace.
My recommendation to Bari Weiss is to fire all the rest of the Suxty Minutes staff on air, then paint a piece of fence and broadcast the paint drying for the remaining 55 minutes.
Stars? IDIOS
I learned a long time ago very few people are irreplaceable in the workplace.
Employees are like teeth in a sharks mouth......when they drop out there’s always one right behind it ready to pop in in it’s place.
A concept these fossils apparently have yet to grasp.....which tells me they’ve been living in a liberal bubble for decades.
“Stars” Yeah, right.
Just kill it now!
Replace it with a new show called “Nick Shirley Investigates Now!”
Nick is the today’s real Mike Wallace, not the fossils Lesley, Bill and Jon. They’ve turned into the old bosses...
I always used to confuse Lesley with Judy Woodruff.
Two old, wrinkled blonds with a sour disposition and a smug attitude.
Just go already!
I remember the old Muppet Show did a skit one time of two TV hosts reporting on a Field of Grass growing in the background, like two sports casters doing a play-by-play. It would be better than 60 Minutes..............
UBER LIB....................
My ‘60 Minutes’ dream team- James O’Keefe, Nick Shirley, Joe Rogen.
Imagine replacing them with the likes of James okeefe and Nick Shirley.
That would be hysterical.
Scott Pelley was fired for hijacking a staff meeting and disparaging his new boss.
Lots of people don’t like their boss. This is the wrong way to handle it if you want to stay employed.
