I swear, I am really beginning to adore this guy, Graham Platner.
The designated savior of the Senate by the Democratic Party and the national press, running for the seat in Maine, has delivered yet another disqualifying hit to his character. The man with a Nazi death camp tattoo, a history of anti-social social media posts, and a possible predilection for Porta Potty self-pleasuring, continues to bring the goods.
For the latest, the man whom the Left cannot make enough excuses for has now been exposed as having a history of salacious sexual texts with several women. A pair of details makes this latest character broadside all the better: The information had been delivered to his team at the start of his campaign, and the information was provided... by his wife.
The Wall Street Journal has the story, where his campaign was gearing up oppo-research on Platner to begin setting up defenses. Then Amy Gertner, Platner’s wife, came forward with a series of sexual texts she discovered on his phone. Now, these messages were said to have been made before their nuptials, which could be considered a mitigating factor, but this does not explain everything.
The couple married in 2024, but Gertner says she made the discovery on Platner’s phone in the spring of 2025. This means that while he may have been having phone-coitus conversations with the women while they were dating, it certainly indicates that he retained these messages well after they were betrothed. Still, in Hillary fashion, Amy is standing by her man.
But this raises quite a few questions, not just about the man personally, but the machinations behind this campaign, and what may transpire in the months ahead. Platner has been a sheer mystery about how he rose to national prominence in such a short period. The man has no political background. The only office he can claim have held is that of Harbor Master, in a tiny fishing village. Yet he has rocketed to becoming a nationally-known political figure.

National Review's Jim Geraghty provides a great shining of the light on the manufactured media status of Platner as a featured political star. In rapid succession, the man was on the receiving end of numerous media profiles, right out of the gate. The New York Times featured him before he had even declared his candidacy. Immediately after, The New Yorker had a 3,400-word bio on the nobody from Maine, and then he was featured in Bon Appétit (?), as well as Gentleman’s Quarterly magazines. (If you have seen Der Oysterfuhrer dressed in anything but defeated jeans and spent hoodies, you know his GQ appearance makes zero sense.)

So the pre-fab nature of things has been more than suspected, and the way the press has been contorting itself to justify backing a guy with a Nazi tattoo, among other issues, has all but confirmed this is a fix. Look at the way Platner has been propped up as the everyman blue-collar worker. As he said during an interview with a local news station in Maine:
I’m a working-class guy that lives a working-class life. There’s an authenticity there that most other politicians just can’t provide because it’s inauthentic for them.
This man has proven himself to be anything but authentic. Few outlets wanted to delve into his upbringing from a well-off family, replete with prep-school bona fides and plenty of backing from a trust fund. The NY Times was only recently willing to expose this flush background. And he has plenty of questionable, nay deceptive, items on his resume.
He claimed he acquired his home via a military loan, but was discovered to have instead been granted around $200,000 from his dad. Same for his bivalve vocation. While he is described as an oyster farmer, he is more accurately the farm's owner. He bought the business through the largesse of a benefactor providing business loans for underserved groups, and money doled out by his mother. And she is the main source of business; Platner’s primary customer for his seafood is his mother’s two restaurants.
Graham Platner
And now we learn that he has a sexual skidmark on his resume, one that his campaign – and ostensibly the Democratic leadership - knew about from the beginning. So how did this leak emanate from them? The other question is: why is there mounting evidence about this guy seeping out now? It is fair to ask if maybe the party that put Platner up to the podium is working to possibly see him replaced, as media criticism is welling up.
The Democrat Party certainly worked to get Platner on the ballot. How else to explain a complete zero being given this boost over an incumbent governor, in Janet Mills, who had name recognition and a track record? Platner saw her stepping down due to swamping her in campaign donations, something only the national party would orchestrate. But today, he runs unopposed and has only demonstrated what a flawed character and flawed candidate his is. So, is something in the works?
The Democratic primary is June 6, and should Platner “step down” afterwards, the state Democrats have one month from that date to find a replacement for the general election. It smacks of deep conspirational plotting, but this is the party that, after all, had a sitting president removed entirely from an election ticket. Having a growling neophyte with distemper and the charisma of a mudslide expunged from a ballot is not that big of a stretch.

Platner is the nazi.
"Nice guy, holier than thou" repubs gave this to dems years ago by setting a high standard for themselves.
No siree Bob. They got them a new poster boy!
Not the democrats, but the media...
Wait. The media ARE democrats!
Who knows better how to “claw back money”that was “stolen from the American working class” than this guy. He’s perfected it. One-hundred percent tax free disability for PTSD, a fake oyster farmer and now his wife getting a salary from campaign donations. He’ll be the next Nancy Pelosi insider trader.
Elizabeth Warren dreams of him evidently
“sexual skidmark” evokes all sorts of unwanted imagery...
Amongst other thimgs, Platner is a post turtle, possibly as much as Obama. Who put him there?
Well, here’s the real question: Janet Mills, the sitting Demo governor of Maine removed herself from the primary process. Why? What kind of mojo does Graham Platner have that would compel Mills, a much more normal looking candidate with presumably a political base in Maine, to withdraw and leave a creature such as Platner to run as the Demo candidate for the Senate? What is really going on here?
This is looking more and more like some kind of Twilight Zone (sorry younger folks) episode.
Cui bono...............
Reads to me the wife turned it in as potential oppo research of what could possibly be found on him? Gotta think she didn’t leak it, someone on the campaign probably? So if that’s right then she is more serious than he is about the political thing, ha.
Freegards
He comes from a wealthy family. Went to private schools. He may be Obama #2...........................
cui bono ... ah a Latin double dative.
Well, here’s the real question: Janet Mills, the sitting Demo governor of Maine removed herself from the primary process.
As I noted on another thread.
Although Janet Mills suspended her campaign she did not file a letter of withdrawl with the SOS, so she could technically win the primary.
The democrats love that pervert homo pedophile, Scott Weiner, in San Fran. They love Platner too.
