Tesla Robotaxi Unsupervised gets into a hotel parking lot that blocked off by an Amazon delivery vehicle, another vehicle, and a large Sysco delivery truck. It took Robotaxi a few seconds to figure out what it was going to do and then it went to the side of the hotel to drop me off, and then went behind the hotel to get back out and on to it's next pickup. Pretty impressive!

What does Tesla Full Self-Driving actually feel like in real life? Not a demo. Not a highlight reel. Just a normal, busy winter workday with 250 miles on the schedule. In this video, I take you along for a full day -- from a cold Iowa morning to a panel talk, a job fair, and a two-hour drive home after a long day on my feet. No hype. Just the real experience of living with FSD and how it fits into everyday life.
This isn’t about the car being magical. It’s about something more subtle. Less stress. Less mental drain. A little more margin in the day. Over time, those small improvements add up. Tesla FSD hasn’t made my life perfect -- but it has quietly made it better. And on long days like this one, that difference really shows.Tesla And FSD Quietly Changed My Life. | 10:16

OK, sounds pretty good. There are times I’d like this.
Put it in a hybrid. I would take a serious look. I will not buy a battery car.
Drove aunt’s Toyota Prius from Wichita KS to Marietta Ga and back. Reasonable-driving car, reasonably comfortable. It was a good drive. Recharging was five minutes at a gas pump, not an hour or more connected to a charger.
Musk is missing a big market. If he can catch and reuse a multi-ton rocket booster he can make a hybrid. He’s already halfway there.
Did it stay autonomous or did it secretly call for human help and remote control?
Waymo is what you’re thinking of. Tesla models don’t secretly call for assistance. Thanks for playing.

If Robotaxi reaches The Boonies, it might work out to be cheaper than the car payment and near-$200 a month auto coverage I pay now.
You can self insure auto liabiliy in some states such as Florida.

Regardless, the lot was not really blocked, and a human could navigate the space without stopping, much less for about 15 seconds. Nevertheless, it was impressive.

Ditto. I call BS. The driverless taxi should have been able to drop off the person at the front door and backed out if there was not enough room to proceed forward.
It was not blocked and not a difficult driving maneuver.
The important stat is if self driving cars have less accidents then people controlled cars. The answer is yes. The problem is that Tesla and Waymo could save thousands of lives yet be sued out of existence for at fault accidents. Especially fatalities.
Soon our highways will be robo friendly. Maybe sensor and optics friendly. Or even broadcasting guidance signals. When that happens say goodbye to personal autonomy because big brother will have the wheel.

Uh, no, they won’t. But nice try.
They will be. The economics of autonomous freight haulers and greater levels of government control over individuals will be irresistible. The left needs to fain control over freedom of movement.
Soon cars will have transponders just like aircraft that will signal identity, and speed, location. The next step will be linking that to traffic laws.
The next step will be the government permitting you to take a trip. Callmot filing a trip plan. Of course important and necessary take made by important and necessary people will be permitted. Good luck getting that permission if you are not of the correct persuasion.
I do not jest. This will happen.
