What’s the point of this? Are you selling Terro ant traps?
Or had your Free Republic account been hacked?

This is the kind of cutting-edge news and commentary this site was made for!

FR isn’t just about the political news of the day. It is a place for people with a shared core of values to post things they find to be of interest, including cultural, religious, and even of personal or commercial interest. That gives FR its free-wheeling flavor. You can skip if it is not for you.

I use the bottle Terro, much more useful than the traps. I squeeze a little circle the ant/ants to insure they run into it and they call all the other ant to the feast. I use it inside and outside. Bottle you can squeeze on on the side of the house foundation

That is not a ant trap.

It is a bait station.

I agree with your comments.

But some context is always helpful. For example, here: “I have found these ant traps to be very effective.”

Without such context, the reader is often left wondering. In this particular instance I suspected possible spam.

I also use the Terro bottle type but it only works on done ants. Not all ants are attracted to it.

When a queen ant notices that scouts on a particular scent trail are not coming back, or if they are acting goofy, she marks the trail as unusable. Very smart those little buggers

I myself use this product.

It is a product that takes a few days to weeks to be completely effective.

And as with every insect pest control measure is something that has to be used again and again. Year after year.

I usually have a couple of boxes on hand.

This Terro stuff works great. I saw a stream of ants marching through my kitchen. could not figure out where the nest was

Put out these Terro traps, and not only did it slow them down enough that I could see the line of them to the nest, but they were all gone within about 7 days.

WE usually just mix up our own bait with borax power from Home Depot or a dollar store and mint jam. It depends on the colony some like peanut We have used commercial bait a lot over the years, and I like the Terro liquid bait and others as well.

I use glue traps at 64 cents each.

They are not suitable if children or pets can get to them.

I put ones that have lots of dead critters on them in dirty places for about a week before tossing them out in plastic bags.
