During a recent press conference in Jerusalem, Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement that stirred strong reactions. Citing historian Will Durant, he said:
"History proves that, unfortunately and unhappily, Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan. Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good."
Though later clarified as a reflection on the harsh realities of history rather than an attack on Christianity, the statement invites a deeper theological response…
The cross does not look like victory. It does not resemble the triumphs of emperors or conquerors. Christ does not defeat his enemies; he allows himself to be handed over, mocked and crucified…
His exaltation does not come through force, but through obedience and trust in the Father. This is not simply a theological idea, it is the pattern of God's action throughout salvation history.
From the beginning, God reveals himself not through overwhelming force, but through unexpected weakness.
A shepherd boy defeats a giant, as David proclaims, "that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves"… a reduced army wins a battle so that the victory may be known as God's and not man's, when Gideon is told, "the people with you are too many lest Israel boast"…a wandering people becomes the bearer of the divine promise…
For, as the Psalm (20) declares, "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God."
The early Christians, through witness and martyrdom, overcame the Roman Empire not by the sword, but by faith…
Genghis Khan conquered lands. Christ conquered death.
And in the light of the Resurrection, we come to see that what seemed like weakness was the greatest strength, and what seemed like loss was the beginning of eternal victory.

Cut And Paste Anti-Semite strikes again.
Yawn…
Netanyahu’s belittling words against Christians shows he is leading the attack against Christians.
Reports indicate that Christians and their properties in Gaza and the West Bank have been targeted by Israeli military forces, as well as by notorious land-grabbing criminal “settlers.”
This is leading to Christian fears of an existence threat. Incidents include Israel bombing Christian churches in Gaza, restricting access to Jerusalem, and criminal land-grabbing settler-led arson attacks, land confiscation, and harassment of Christians in the West Bank. NBC News
During Israel’s attempted annihiliation of Gaza, churches and affiliated institutions have been bombed, with cases of killings reported.

Christian organizations report that Israel uses taxation as a method to seize Christian land for Jews and restrict operations, with nearly 90% of land in some Christian villages reportedly seized by Israeli contingents.
Hallowed Christian access to holy sites in Jerusalem during major holidays is heavily restricted by Israeli authorities.
Reports highlight rising Israeli harassment, including vandalism of Christian churches and cemeteries by Jewish religious nationalist extremists.......with only a few cases resulting in prosecution. NBC News
Christian leaders have warned that these actions are part of a broader, long-term Israeli effort to drive out the Christian community in the region.
Ho-hum .....Uncle Miltie kvetches.....again.
I appreciate that Christians who understand the whole context of Netanyahu’s remarks take it as an opportunity to discuss their theology. That’s great, and healthy.
The previous maliciously edited version attempted to turn a good man’s good thought into an anti-Christian smear, which it was not. Happy to see the same event turned to a good purpose.
Christianity isn’t my flavor, but I appreciate y’all over there staying strong in your fundamentals. It’s the only way I get to live free. And I’ll fight along with you for that.
Happy weekend to my Christian FRiends, and Good Shabbos to my Jewish ones!
Kvetches = accurately describes.
Do you have a reusable cut and paste indictment folder for anyone other than Jews?
Didn’t think so.
I rest my case.
Did Bibi Netanyahu Just Insult Jesus? | Ep 1322 by Allie Beth Stuckey
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9M26iF3F7I
Hint: “She addresses the backlash to Bibi Netanyahu’s comments about Jesus and power, arguing that much of the outrage misunderstands both his point and the Christian just war tradition.”
But of course, the Anti-Jewish, Anti-Israel, Anti-Trump crowd won’t be bothered by any facts or reason.
Christian villages like NAZARETH have become almost entire Muslim DUE TO MUSLIMS! Their Christians fled...to ISRAEL!
There is no "clarification" of that comment that should be acceptable for true Christians. And before someone labels me as an anti-Semite, wrong, I support Netanyahu when he deserves it, but criticize him when he deserves it as well.
Christian access to religious sites refers to a Israel’s contentious stubborness wrt diplomatic and religious issues concerning freedoms of Christians to visit and worship at sites like the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is the premier Christian pilgrimage site in Jerusalem’s Old City, marking the traditional sites of Jesus’s crucifixion (Calvary or Golgotha) and his burial/resurrection tomb. Established in the 4th century, it is a key Christian holy site comprising the Aedicule (shrine housing the tomb), the Stone of Anointing, and Golgotha.
Religious Freedom Concerns: Christian leaders in the Holy Land have accused Israeli authorities of escalating restrictions, such as limiting access to ceremonies like the Holy Fire and imposing, then suspending, property tax demands on churches.
U.S. Diplomatic Pressure: Some U.S. officials, such as Senator Chris Van Hollen, have urged the U.S. government to use diplomatic efforts to ensure Israel protects the rights and religious freedom of Christians in the region.
Political Lobbying: Israel has engaged in multi-million dollar campaigns targeting American Christian evangelicals to maintain support for its policies. The Times of Israel
While Israeli officials maintain that they uphold religious freedom, they have also taken forcible steps “to tax commercial properties owned by churches,” which church leaders argue Speaks loudly of a long-standing Israeli animus against Christians.
If Uncle Miltie..... or any of that ilk...... dont like what they read here, they
can get off this site and go elsewhere to post their America-hating rubbish.
Bebe is walking a fine line, no doubt -- slurring Jesus is a time-honored trope to rally Israel in-country, and to 'establish' in wartime some sort of laughable boundary between Israel's patron, the United States, and Israel's actual ability to conduct regime change without the US.
I could care less, it's something Bebe -- along with any Israelite who responded with 'Yes!' to that slur viscerally in their heart -- will have to answer for. It's venial, as are most of Bebe's non-wartime pronouncements, like immediately congratulating Biden on stealing the 2020 election once the AP called Pennsylvania 100 hours after Election Day -- which if the same 100-hour delay were to ever be attempted by the opposition in Israel, would have created an instant civil war.
The United States is blessed by the Lord God Jesus Christ because we have entrusted and dedicated our sovereignty to him (God is named in the Declaration of Independence, "Creator" in the Constitution, and God also named in all 50 state constitutions).
Just as most Israelites enjoy a good slur on Jesus now and then, the exact same people know that Christ is King, and live in reticent fear over the possibility that they will take it too far someday, and God will lift his hand off the chosen.
Today is not that day, for God has seen fit for now -- as is His Plan -- to unite us against the common enemy that is Islam, but in particular, Iran's fetid brand of Shia Islam.
“America hating”
I recommend everyone review my 27 year history here to prove Liz a liar.
The Israeli military is heavily subsidized by U.S. tax dollars, making Israel the largest recipient of US foreign military aid in history.
The U.S. provides roughly $3.8 billion annually (that we know of) under a 10-year memorandum of understanding, funding advanced weaponry, joint missile defense, and military equipment.
Since October 2023, the US has provided Israel over $17.9 billion tax dollars in military aid.
