I have never posted over here so if I'm in the wrong place doing the wrong thing the wrong way, I apologize - please advice, not flame.
Since Apple paid $2,000,000,000.00 (yes, that's two billion dollars) for the sole rights to broadcast F1 races live I decided to break my no Apple rule and do the 7 day trial.
The embedded Formula 1 app works, as does the embedded MLS app, Apple original Coming Soon and Children's shows all work but none of the Apple Original content (Movies, Shows, etc) will load. All we get is "Page Unavailable".
I cannot get ANY support from Apple. My sign-in does not work for support and cannot create an Apple account because "Apple registration cannot call my phone number right now"- so I have to upgrade to IOS 12 to create an Apple Account for support?!?!
Apple forums are useless ("buy an Apple TV", "Buy an Apple Box", etc.). Any online 'help' has been nothing more that some blowhard online reviewer telling how to install the AppleTV app and how great it is. The one 'tech' author I commented to blasted me for replying to a 2 year+ old article.
I have GoogleTV (Android) and Amazon 4K MAX Firesticks (some smart TVs, some dumb TVs) and have read that Apple and Google are having licensing spats so gave up on the Google TVs, but Amazon insists Appletv app works so no help there.
I have the F1 app (which is great) but thanks to Apple the current season action is delayed 48 hours. It's impossible to record a Monday Night Football game to watch on Tuesday without some... one posting the game scores somewhere, so waiting 48 hrs is useless.
So far I have been told that the Originals aren't available during the Free 7 day trial. The trial is over, no change. I seems stupid to pay full price for a stripped down AppleTV app so I would like to exhaust all to get it working.
Has anyone else run into AppleTV app not working?
Maybe someone knows how to get useful, live support from Apple or Amazon - online or phone?
Either way, thanks for listening. Any advice other than going Apple or quitting F1 is welcome.

Sorry pal, first things first.
I just got finished watching the F1 Chinese GP summary on Youtube. I have no suggestions as I am not getting Appled.
Do you have a “smart TV”? I have an LG Tv that allows me to download the app directly. It prevents any conflicts between Apple and Google/Prime.
Although the app doesn’t work correctly on my iPad because I am not using the most recent IOS.
I don’t know if this is advice, but I bought some kind of Apple platform last year so I could watch baseball games. Season is over, I didn’t find their other programming appealing, so I wanted to cancel. Hahahahahaha! I ended up in endless loops, and mazes without end. No customer services numbers, or emails. I must have wasted 3 hours trying to cancel.
I think I finally got through to a human by calling to subscribe to more crap. It took me multiple calls, too, to get what I wanted, and it was a foreigner, of course. He told me multiple times I could not cancel on the phone, and then finally he cancelled me on the phone. I swore never again with Apple. Obviously they do this on purpose to keep people subscribed. I won’t do business again with a company that scummy.
Souns like you have multiple problems that require multiple solutions
Monday Night Football.
Not football season. Avoid all media and people if you don’t want to know the score and want to watch the game two days later. I don’t that is ever on Apple TV. This is in ESPN.
Apple TV.
If you want to watch on all televison sets then have smart television sets and have the latest softwsre version installed on each set. Download the latest Apple TV app too.
Did you try calling them?
I won’t tell you to quit F1, but will note that Indycar racing has been awesome so far this season. Did you catch the race from Pheonix last weekend or the Fast 6 qualifing in Arlington yesterday?
I’ll be getting AppleTV to get the latest seasons of Monarch and Foundation, never had an issue with it.

“so I have to upgrade to IOS 12 to create an Apple Account for support?!?!”
A lot of people love Apple, but as Apple moves on to new products, it sometimes orphans existing customers. So, it would come as no surprise to me if you had to upgrade to a new OS.
My wife’s browser provided notifications to upgrade. We tried to upgrade and learned that we needed the new OS to run the new browser. So, we tried that. Then we learned we needed a new computer to run the new OS. We did that too and now everything works fine.
Microsoft isn’t perfect but it works harder to satisfy its existing base of customers.
“I have no suggestions as I am not getting Appled.”
LOL, it started for me in 1982 in computer science classes, there was no such thing as a ‘PC’ in those days as it was all mainframes, but on the way. We were studying early evolution of binary math through chips at the time, namely IBM and Apple before personal computers came out. Apple Crap was impossible to network and instructors hated them so I guess that rubbed off on us.
So much so decades later I pulled out the ‘Apple’ button on a couple remotes and filled them with epoxy so I didn’t accidently bump it or even look at it, heh.
F1 made a big mistake this year with Apple TV - the best way and only thing they’ll notice is financial impact.
IMO get out of that trial and don’t give them a cent. (And yes Indycar is all on broadcast TV this year)
We got the free trial of Apple TV last night to try the show Pluribus. It’s an original.
I ordered online. Next,
I opened the apple TV app on my Roku and then I scanned the QR code with my phone. I had to log back in to apple tv and then It worked.
I don’t know how fire stick works, but should be similar to Roku.
I just use my sisters sign in to watch the race...i believe if you get Amazon prime you can watch the races on Apple through prime..
They are NOT user friendly. My daughter gifted me a 1 yr subscription for Christmas so I could watch Foundation because I love Isaac Asminov books. Show is ok, but changed quite a bit as main character is now female...sigh Anyway, getting to use the gift card was a nightmare. Even their support line couldn’t figure out how to use it. I turned it over to my tech savy son and it took him 3 days to get it going.
That being said, Foundation is really good sci-fi and the other show I really liked is Silo. I will probably extend my subscription to at least watch the conclusion of Silo which is supposed to come in 2027.
