The Judiciary Committee will host Public Testimony on March 11th on these anti-gun bills. We need YOU to tell the legislature NOT to pass these bills! CCDL Outreach will also be deploying all across the state to host testimony-writing sessions at FFLs and Clubs. 1. Register to deliver oral testimony in opposition to H.B. 5043 and H.B. 5436.
Plan to arrive for 9AM and wear CCDL/2A Merch to sport your affiliation. Let’s flood the capitol!
2. Submit written testimony in opposition to H.B. 5043 and H.B. 5436.
Double-check our notes below and the bill language for facts, and your individual takes/experiences on these bill topics.
3. Spread the WORD! Tell at least 3 other people to testify!

H.B. 5043: The Ban on “Convertible Pistols”
This highly-discussed bill proposes a ban on many models of striker-fired pistols because of their supposed “readily convertible” ability to become illegal machineguns. This includes Generation 1-5 Glocks, any clones of such pistols, and MANY more models that have yet to be named. Here’s some talking points to get you started…read the bill here.
...
H.B. 5436: An Act Concerning “Firearms Definitions”
This new bill redefines “firearm” and adds barrels, slides, cylinders, and a newly-defined unfinished frame/receiver. This law would subject ALL of these items to regulation as firearms, and adds an even more vague definition of “unfinished” receiver. Here’s some talking points to get you started…read the bill here.

All infringements of the 2nd amendment.
I left CT 20 years ago for these reasons
Exactly. It’s also difficult to write testimony against HB 5436, which would seek to make something like a replacement barrel a separate firearm, because it is so insanely stupid, and written by someone with no concept of the different parts of a firearm and what they do it is taking me like four or five different attempts to try to make it make some sort of logical sense for the dumbasses in Hartford
So, I guess the only firearms they want would be classic flint lock dueling pistols.
I am sure the thugs in New Haven and Hartford are paying attention.
“This highly-discussed bill proposes a ban on many models of striker-fired pistols because of their supposed “readily convertible” ability to become illegal machineguns. “
If I remember correctly, owning a machine gun is already covered by a slew of laws.
The state museum has a very nice collection of Colt guns.

Back in the day, I was told, even a piece of car radio antenna might work as a barrel.
Did that pass in Colorado? It may be where Connecticut got the idea from. Presumably, they have the idea for the “Glock ban” from the law CA passed and got instantly sued fur.
The idiots in Connecticut, generally aren’t very smart, they always play fall the leader of other states and just repeat what they do.
More moronic woke nonsense.
“If I remember correctly, owning a machine gun is already covered by a slew of laws.”
Sure. If these convertible guns are such a problem, how many people have been arrested with one? Must be a lot. So how many of those were prosecuted for possession of an illegal machine gun? I’m guessing None is the answer.
They do not want to proescute anyone with a “Glock switch.” What they want is to disarm the citizen population so they can continue with even greater perversions of the Constitution.

(I actually saw a movie once where the 'McGuyvering" cowboy lost his gun but had ammo, and put a cartridge on a boulder, another rock on top of it, and hit the back of it with another pointy rock, and not only fired it, but actually hit one of the guys that were chasing him.)
They clearly found like 50 of them in a couple years in the state. Of course, mostly in Hartford, Waterbury or Bridgeport. Weirdly, they never reported how many of these people were appropriately charged, and if convicted, received an appropriate sentence. I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.
Fight Conn.,write, call the politicians.Tell ‘em it’s only about control of the citizens !

No such luck. All these democrat states are redefining a barrel as a firearm.
