You will get killed—like Mahsa Amini. But here they tell me, “Shh, if you talk about this, you're going to cause Islamophobia.” Phobia is irrational. But believe me, my fear and the fear of millions of Iranian women and women in Afghanistan is rational.
Bill Maher: Exactly. Yes, there’s a— People fear Islam not because of irrational things. They blow themselves up. They stab people on behalf of Islam. They commit jihad on behalf of Islam. Incredibly rational to fear that.
Masih Alinejad: No, honestly, you’re not scared of Islamic laws. You’re not scared of being killed.

Masih Alinejad: And if there’s something wrong with you—how can you enable that? Look, I invite them all to go and live under Sharia laws in Iran and Afghanistan. They would say no. They always try to downplay our cause. But they don’t even dare. They don’t even dare to live one day wearing a burqa or hijab. Some of them—actually, I challenge Ilhan Omar. You know about Ilhan Omar? The Muslim congresswoman from Minnesota. Yeah, she’s coming now with legislation, gathering information around the world about who causes Islamophobia. I was like, “Oh my God.” Even here in America now, someone is monitoring us that we’re going to cause Islamophobia. Those who lash us, those who kill us, those who hang us, those who—if we say we don’t want to be Muslim anymore—they’re going to kill you. Those actually create the phobia. I mean, of course there is phobia.

And for years and years I’ve been telling all the Western feminists—from the European Parliament. Can you believe they invited me to talk about the Burkini ban? I went to the European Parliament. I hijacked their cause and I said, “How hypocrites you are. You bring me here to condemn the Burkini ban, the Muslim ban. But when it comes to wearing hijab, you bow to the Iranian government. You wear hijab.” And now you’re wrong. My people in Iran—they are right. Now stand up for Iranian women.
