Such a sad moment although despite all the "crying" did anyone detect any actual tears? And is that flat out laughter by someone off-camera?

I'm guessing the poor anchor had to put up just enough show of "grief" to keep from being executed on the spot but he made it fake enough to keep his job when the new leadership comes in later so he can tell them he purposely made it look obviously fake. Also that guy off camera sure sounded like he was joyously LAUGHING.
