The Florida Freeze this winter almost completely wiped out the iguanas in South Florida. The first week of the Big Freeze the nighttime temperatures fell below 40 degrees on most nights and dropped below freezing on at least a couple of nights. After that first week, temperatures rose again only to drop for a few more days killing many/most of the hardy iguanas that barely survived the first week. Although the temperature has risen into the 80s for over a week, I still have seen NO iguanas until today probably due to the fact that Lake PJ is well stocked with snapping turtles. Although snapping turtles mostly avoid iguanas they are also opportunists and when the iguanas began falling out of the trees either dead or hibernating, the snapping turtles took advantage of the situation and feasted on them. Therefore I was surprised today to see this iguana that somehow survived both the freeze and the snapping turtles of Lake PJ. From head to tail this iguana measured at least five feet.

I don’t suppose it wiped out the snakes or gators...
Tastes Like El Chicken!
Iguanas are an invasive species that is harming Florida.
I took a photo of our red hibiscus in full bloom today and shared it with friends.
The first time I’ve seen over 100 blooms in YEARS.
CAPTIONED; “life without iguanas”
All of our hibiscus are filled with blossoms.

Man, quite correctly, has dominion over the animals. Some are pests which we are better off without.
Mentioned earlier as a pizza topping...!
Nothing tastes like chicken except chicken.
Don't get me wrong, it is edible. Not even close to the worse thing I have ever had. But it does not taste like chicken.
You left out lawyers....
