This is core teaching in all Christian denominations I’m familiar with.
And it is the one thing that really bothers them. They want to decide for themselves how to behave. They don’t want to hear or be reminded about moral principles — they see these as limiting, restraining, and in some instances requiring them to act certain ways...

without God, all is permitted — which is exactly what they want -— to be permitted to do, act, behave in all ways of their own choosing....(think: 2 year old)
