Yes, recent analyses from late 2025 and early 2026 data suggest the U.S. murder rate is projected to hit its lowest point since at least 1900, with a dramatic drop in 2025, potentially reaching around 4.0 per 100,000 people, marking the largest single-year decline on record and reversing pandemic-era increases. This significant decrease follows sharp drops in 2023 and 2024, bringing rates in many major cities to historic lows, although official FBI data for 2025 will confirm these preliminary findings later in 2026. Key Data & Projections (as of early 2026): Projected 2025 Rate: Around 4.0 per 100,000 people. 2025 Drop: A projected 20% decrease from 2024, the largest single-year fall ever. Recent Trend: A significant reversal of the post-2020 crime surge, with homicides falling by substantial percentages in 2023, 2024, and 2025. What This Means: Historic Low: The 2025 figure, if confirmed, would be the lowest U.S. homicide rate in over a century. Reversal of Trends: This marks a dramatic turnaround from the pandemic years when murder rates surged. Data Sources: These findings are based on preliminary analysis from sources like the Council on Criminal Justice (CCJ) and data from major cities, with official national data from the FBI expected later. In summary, current data strongly indicates the U.S. murder rate is at a historic low not seen since the early 20th century, driven by substantial declines in recent years. Murder doesn’t always track with other crimes of violence.
There are exceptions. I remember one spring in DC when violent crime was through the roof, but murders stayed at their ‘normal’ levels.

All crime is down, but the murder is the most important. All crime in US, down alot. No AG ever has done what Pam has done in a year.

Deport thousands of violent criminals and the murder rates drop. Must be a coincidence.

No AG ever has done what Pam has done in a year.

And what, specifically, has Pam done?

Is this a vanity post?

You don’t show either author or source as “Self”.

If not, then what is the actual source for your data? Where can the original article be found?

Mods need to delete.

Really? After 4 years of biased data reporting across the US, suddenly the data is accurate because DJT is in the WH?

Alrighty, then.

Anybody who trusts government is a moron.

So many plot holes.

Obviously we can save more people now who would have been killed in 1900. But more so, that do we even charge all people were killed with homicide, as past rates did? Do we count deaths or merely rates of charges?

It wasn’t Bondi, it was Patel & Bongino. Hannity had Bongino on tonight where he explained how they did it.

Basically two part. 1) they got agents out of DC and sent them across the US. 2) they used the broken window tactic after the bad guys and arrested and locked them up.
