If 3I Atlas is an ordinary comet in most respects anyway, as 99% of the astronomical community would have us believe, then why do new developments keep coming to light with this object every few days? I have something new to report on with 3I Atlas virtually every 48 to 72 hours. An ordinary object that bears a great deal of resemblance to a solar system comet simply could not generate this much news. But it absolutely is.
First of all, at this point, we have so many new anomalies, and modified anomalies when it comes to 3I Atlas, that Avi has decided to update his list again. And at this point, we have 18 anomalies with 3I Atlas. I'm going to update you on all of those.
But in addition, at last, we have a change with 3I Atlas' speed. Not necessarily its conventional velocity, but its speed in a way that's actually more difficult to explain, especially when you consider that it is also pulsing. Its brightness is increasing and decreasing at a rate that has nothing to do with its rate of rotation, unlike just about every other object in astronomy.
3I Atlas in the news again. And as I just said at the beginning of the video, very difficult to understand how an ordinary comet could possibly be generating this much news on a regular basis. And it's not like these things are theories or just opinions or something along those lines or fringe science.
These are published facts. These are facts that are being reported in scholarly papers that have nothing to do with Avi Lov. Scholarly papers that don't argue the 3I Atlas is an alien spaceship or anything along those lines. Simply saying the 3I Atlas is doing things that it shouldn't be doing, displaying strange anomalous behavior that is inconsistent with an ordinary comet. So, we're going to be talking about 2 major topics in this particular video. Again, so much to talk about in such a short amount of time.
First of all, we're going to update the list of anomalies that Avi Lov has been reporting on. Had to essentially update and make some changes also to the anomalies that have been reported and observed with 3I Atlas. Things that once again are inconsistent with the behavior of ordinary comets. Not all of them of course suggesting techno signatures or anything like that, just inconsistent with normal cometary behavior.
So, we have 18 anomalies to talk about just to make sure that we're all up to speed on all the strange things that 3I Atlas has been doing. And then also, we need to talk about new strangeness or a change in velocity. Not really a change in conventional velocity, but a change in speed in a different regard that's actually a little bit more difficult to explain.
A Change in Rotational Speed And this rotation is being accompanied by a strange pulsating behavior, an increase and decrease in luminosity that unlike other objects in astronomy, things like pulsars, doesn't seem to have anything to do with its rotation. Okay, so Dr. Lov has now broken down the anomalies into subcategories.
Geometric Coincidences Number 1: The retrograde trajectory of 3I Atlas is aligned to within 5° of the orbital plane. We've heard about this one for a while, of the planets of the sun with a probability of 2%. The Milky Way disc is misaligned with the ecliptic plane by about 60°. Meaning that interstellar objects that are traveling in a direction that adheres to the galactic ecliptic plane, which should be a lot more likely, well, that's not happening with this object. So, this suggests that the trajectory of 3I Atlas may have been planned.
Number 2: The arrival time of 3I Atlas was fine-tuned to bring it within a minimum distance of 29 and 54 million km from Mars and Jupiter, respectively, and to be unobservable from Earth at perihelion. And to add something to this, it also passed less than 1 astronomical unit from the planet Venus. In other words, it passed 2 planets in the Goldilocks zone of our sun and also is making a close approach to a planet that has moons that could have life beneath their icy surface inside hidden oceans. We know this for a fact.
Number 3: The forecasted perijove distance, in other words, close approach to Jupiter on March 16th, 2026 is 53.6 million km, which is very close to Jupiter's Hill Radius of 53.5 million km. A mere 100,000 km, which is ridiculously close in solar system terms.
And again, this is the location where Jupiter's gravity and the sun's gravity cancel one another out at what are called LaGrange points, which are perfect places to put something that you would like to loiter in the vicinity of Jupiter. Perhaps to keep the moons of Jupiter under observation or for some other purpose.
LaGrange points are extremely useful for exploration related spacecraft, and we use them ourselves for our space telescopes and various probes, such as the Escapade spacecraft.
Number 4: Analysis of the Hubble Space Telescope image of 3I Atlas from July 21st, 2025 suggests that the anti-tail before perihelion must have been in the form of a columnated jet towards the sun that is 10 times longer than it is wide. This is similar to the columniation observed in post perihelion images out to several 100,000 km. No known comets have exhibited a physical sunward jet of this length that is not a perspective effect.
In other words, anything that comes close to an anti-tail of this length is an optical illusion, not an actual physical anti-tail. For a technological object, a beam of particles might be used to block the solar wind from impacting the nucleus surface at a relative speed of order of 500 km/s. In addition, the veil of dust around 3I Atlas is just the right column needed to block sunlight from hitting the nucleus. Quite an amazing coincidence.
Number 5: At large distances, the initial rotation axis of 3I Atlas was aligned to within 8° of the sunward direction when it entered the solar system. The probability for that is 0.5%.
Number 6: The observed wobble of the perihelion jet in the direction of the sun requires that the base of the jet be within 8° of the sun-facing pole with a probability of 0.5%.
In other words, you have an anti-tail that seems to be emanating from a source that's within 8° of both poles of this object, depending on whether it was approaching or receding away from the sun. Very strange coincidence, and again very unlikely.
Number 7: The existence of a prominent jet towards the sun on the way of 3I Atlas out of the solar system requires a similar coincidence nears the opposite pole of the rotation axis. The fact that a columnated jet appears as the sunward anti-tail both before and after perihelion while reversing direction at perihelion relative to the direction of motion, has a tiny probability of occurring at random equal to the square of 0.5% or 0.25%.
Number 8: Processing of the Hubble Space Telescope images from January 14th, 2026 by the Larsson Ciccania filter, which removes the circularly symmetric glow around the nucleus, reveals a system of 3 mini jets, which are symmetrically separated by 120° from one another.
Number 9: The launch base of the post perihelion anti-tail jet resided on the night side of 3I Atlas before perihelion, and the base of the perihelion anti-tail jet is now on the night side of 3I Atlas after perihelion.
In other words, we have incredible symmetry in this object in so many different respects in terms of the 120° separation between the jets and the location of the anti-tail point of origin close to the poles while both approaching and leaving the sun.
For these bases to be active only when facing the sun, they must be well insulated on the night side for a period longer than several months. Heat naturally flows by conduction through the body of a natural comet, making this insulation requirement difficult to satisfy.
Number 10: The gravitational deflection of 3I Atlas by 16° of perihelion is exactly twice the opening angle of the anti-tail before perihelion. This coincidence allows the wobbling jet around the rotation axis to generate an anti-tail in the direction of the sun before perihelion and a counter-jet on the opposite pole, after perihelion with a jet opening angle of 8° on both poles.
In other words, the anti-tail's point of origin, I know I've said this a number of times, but these anomalies are just incredible. The point of origin of the anti-tail as it approached the sun was within 8° of the pole.
In order for it to continue coming from this point of origin at the opposite pole, 3I Atlas would have to shift by 16°. Its axis essentially would have to shift by a 16° margin during perihelion & during that close approach in order for the jet to continue emanating the anti-tail with exactly the same geometry, which is precisely what happened at perihelion. The odds of that happening purely by chance are mind-bogglingly slim.
Number 11: On January 22nd, 2026, 3I Atlas will align with the Sun-Earth axis within an extraordinarily small angle of 69°. At that time, its anti tail will be pointing at the Earth.
In other words, at the time the 3I Atlas will be aligning with the sun and the earth along the same axis, the anti-tail will be pointing straight at us, and we won't be able to see it properly.
Again, it will be obscured from our sight at a very key point.
Number 12: 3I Atlas arrived from a direction coincident with the radio wow signal to within 9° with a probability of 6%. Again, the WOW signal being a promising narrowband transmission that we received in 1977, that some scientists anyway believe might have come from an extraterrestrial civilization. Okay, now we need to move on after all of those anomalies to composition anomalies.
Composition Anomalies Number 13: The gas plume surrounding 3I Atlas contains much more nickel than iron, as found in industrially produced nickel alloys, and a nickel to cyanide ratio that is orders of magnitude larger than for thousands of known comets, including interstellar comet 2I Borosov. This might indicate a technological origin for these abundances.
Number 14: The anti-tail is capable of penetrating hundreds of thousands of kilometers through the solar wind and the solar radiation. In order not to be stopped, the dust particles (once again we don't know that the anti-tail is comprised of dust) must be larger than common sub-micron particles of interstellar dust.
However, if these particles are bigger than a millimeter, then they must carry an untenable amount of mass in order to account for 99% of the scattered sunlight around 3I Atlas.
In other words, fragments of dust that are that big, given how many of them must exist to create the anti-tail that we are observing, the mass of that anti-tail would be untenable. Far too much mass than a single comet could generate.
Number 15. Data from the Spherex Space Observatory indicated the existence of icy fragments around 3I Atlas before perihelion. However, the spectral signature of ice disappeared in the Spherex data, after perihelion taken during December of 2025 when abundant organic molecules were discovered, along with an enhancement by a factor of 20 in the water production rate.
To survive cosmic ray bombardment along an interstellar journey, that theoretically has lasted billions of years, these organic molecules must have been buried under a thick layer of material at least 10 m in depth. Now we need to move on to unusual physical properties.
Unusual Physical Properties The last category, number 16: The nucleus of 3I Atlas is more massive than Oumuamua's and Borosov while moving faster than both. This suggests that 3I Atlas might have targeted the inner solar system, rather than being drawn at random from a reservoir of interstellar icebergs, simply because things must be incredibly unusual in the interstellar medium, given how infrequently we encounter interstellar objects.
Number 17. 3I Atlas shows extreme negative light polarization, unprecedented for all known comets, including interstellar comet 2I Borosov. This unusual polarization may be related to its anti-tail.
And finally, number 18. Near perihelion 3I Atlas brightened faster than any known comet and was bluer and therefore, hotter than the sun's chromosphere.
Okay, so we've reviewed the anomalies and now it's time to talk about the new developments, new things that have been happening with 3I Atlas or new discoveries, in regards to its speed of rotation, and this strange pulsation that seems to be happening. Strange luminosity that seems to be changing on a regular basis.
But again, luminosity that doesn't seem to have anything to do with the rate of rotation. Easy enough to explain, if the rate of rotation match the luminosity change, because you could simply say that there's a part of the nucleus that's outgassing more than other sections of the comet.
And so therefore, it just gets a little bit brighter when that part of the comet rotates into view. But that's not what's happening. We have a shift in luminosity that seems to have no relation whatsoever to rotation. So why is it pulsing?
There are two ways to measure the rotation period of 3I Atlas. One uses the periodic shift in the orientation of the jet structure launched by 3I Atlas as it rotates, and the second relies on the periodic modulation of the total brightness of 3I Atlas including the glowing halo of coma and jets around it.
In a new paper that Avi co-authored with Tony Scarmetto they measured the rotation period of 3I Atlas after perihelion in both ways.
Firstly, they measured the position angle of the anti-sunward jet on the sky at multiple times by applying the Larsson Siccania Rotational Gradient Filter to the Hubble Space Telescope images from between November 20th, 2025 and December 27th of 2025.
Secondly, they analyzed the brightness evolution between December 9th and December 22nd, 2025, using data from the quarter meter telescope MPCL92 in Calabria, Italy. They found that the periodic wobbles of the jet position angle by plus or minus 20° occurs over a period of 7.2 hours.
So the position of the jet generating the anti-tail seems to be rotating once every 7.2 hours. Independently the periodic variations in brightness by plus or minus 30% yields a period of 7.136 hours.
The 2 periods differ slightly, but the small difference is plausibly attributable to systematics. The combined data supports a post-perihelion rotation period of about 7.1 hours, which by the way is faster than it was rotating, triggering a periodic procession of the jet structure around the rotation axis of 3I Atlas.
So these two values are very close to one another, and indicate a pretty consistent rotational period (which by the way is again faster than the periodic jet procession that existed before perihelion of 7.74 hours).
So we're talking about 3I Atlas' rotation rate speeding up by about 25 minutes or so. But here's the problem.
Prior to perihelion, the difference between the 2 values, that is to say, the jet rotation and the pulsing, the change in brightness was incredibly different. It's very close to one another right now, but prior to perihelion, it was 7.74 hours based on the jet rotation, but 16 to 17 hours inferred from brightness variability. And this was reported by 2 different scientific papers, neither of which were written by Avi Lov.
Why the massive difference? Why this inconsistency? And if 3I Atlas' rotation is not creating this brightness variability, then what is? And why did the brightness variability make a correction, so to speak, and become much closer to the jet rotational value after perihelion when it had a huge difference prior to perihelion?
And so this is perhaps the most dramatic change we've seen from 3I Atlas thus far because, although the rate of rotation may have increased by about 25 minutes or so based on the jet rotation, if we are talking about the pulsing rate (which by the way that should also indicate the rotation) well, that means 3I Atlas has increase speed by more than double and that should not be possible.
So once again, as always, 3I Atlas continues to generate new news and new speculation, and I don't think this is going to change any time in the next couple of years. There is so much data that's been gathered on this strange interstellar object, and it's going to take a long time to properly analyze all of it. And then, quite a number of papers are going to be published by researchers who are trying to interpret all of these strange characteristics.
The one thing that remains constant though, the one thing that doesn't change is the fact that the mainstream media, and the mainstream scientific community and the main space agencies, the more respected space agencies on the planet, all of them continue to say that 3I Atlas is just a comet. Just a plain ordinary comet. nothing to get excited about. A few strange characteristics, a few minor things, kind of like a different brand of coffee, but other than that, nothing to write home about. When that is absolutely not true.
When you have a list of 18 anomalies associated with any object in astronomy, that means that that object is strange. That means that that object is unique and bizarre. Perhaps a typical thing in other solar systems, who knows? But we have never observed anything like it passing through our solar system. That's significant. That's newsworthy. And that's something I'm going to keep reporting on until there's nothing left to report on when it comes to this object. Once again, I don't see that changing for quite some time.

Anything but fraud, Epstein’s list, or the Clintons
lol not sure this qualifies as squirrel as media is not making much hay about it, but shows that there is other stuff going on that reasonable people can talk about 😀
Football, weather, alien spacecraft😂
Those have closed minds and cannot consider anything that goes against consensus thinking will not stay long on a website as brilliant as Free Republic.
But boring! Scientifically interesting, but nothing alarming.
Features3I/ATLAS's characteristics, color, speed, and direction are all consistent with what we expect from a comet.
3I/ATLAS has an icy nucleus and a coma, which is a bright cloud of gas and dust that surrounds the comet and is emitted at increasing rates as the comet approaches the Sun.
3I/ATLAS is on what's called a hyperbolic trajectory, which means it is moving too fast to be bound by the Sun's gravity and, therefore, is not following a closed orbital path around the Sun. It is simply passing through our solar system.
3I/ATLAS came closest to the Sun on Oct. 30, 2025, at a distance of about 130 million miles (210 kilometers), or 1.4 astronomical units (AU), just outside the orbit of Mars. At that time, Earth was on the opposite side of the Sun.
3I/ATLAS is scientifically important because its differences from the comets in our solar system may provide insight into the composition of other solar systems.

BTW, on January 22nd, 2026, when 3I Atlas aligns with the Sun-Earth axis with its anti tail pointing at the Earth, you don't suppose it'll zap us, do you???

This stuff is fun. But I will keep my mind open…and skeptical.
Of course since it’s only the 3rd interstellar object we’ve ever seen (hence the 3I) we don’t actually have a whole heck of a lot of data on how interstellar objects are supposed to behave. You really can’t say there are any anomalies. There is no baseline from which to have anomalies.
Maybe something rammed it in a collision that transerred momentum to it, and it's now tumbling when it wasn't before?

The one that concerns me is Apophis. I read an article that it will come so close to Earth that it will be below the orbit of satellites and while they don’t think it will hit Earth on this pass, it may when it passes again in 7 years. And if it does, it will wipe out the West Coast.
