LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. (CBS12) — Eighty-eight German Shepherds are finally safe after federal agents raided a Texas breeding operation where dogs were reportedly killed.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue said the January 9 rescue followed a tip on December 29 about extreme cruelty at Giant German Shepherd Ranch in Hopkins County, owned by Kristine Hicks. What authorities found was shocking: more than 100 dogs living in squalor, many in critical condition.

Go to a professional.
Behold the "professionals".
German Shepherds are great dogs. They are intelligent and very loving and protective of their owner. One of the problems in recent years, however, is standards set by various Kennel Clubs call for an almost frog-like appearance, with short hind legs and a sloping back, that is quite different from the original bloodline and seems to me to be ridiculous and cruel.
PATHETIC!
I have a 113 pound male shepherd who’s 8 years old. We call him the gentle giant because he is so sweet. That is until he feels a threat to me, then he is the beast. He’s never harmed anyone but he has definitely backed a few people off with his bark.
He loves children and thinks all babies are his.
This story is makes me furious.
“88... Eight Eight. HH German dogs. Obviously hitler dogs. Probably all named Goldie.”

I'm a shepherd lover and I agree with you. They are unsightly to me.
Back in the late 60's, into the 70's, dad had a big, beautiful black and silver shepherd that he got when it was about a year old. He got it from a lady who kept it locked up in her garage. Dad was a Detroit policeman and one of his fellow officers told him about the dog so he went to the lady's home and convinced her to sell it to him.
He only had it for about nine years before it developed hip dysplasia and had to be put down. I was tasked with taking it to the vet and that was one of the saddest days of my life.
It just blows my mind how people like that can have such a disregard for the lives of those dogs and allows them to suffer like that.
Did you say ... 88?
waiting for someone to turn this into an abortion thread.
That owner needs to be put in a jail cell and treated like she treated those dogs.
TRAIN THEM ALL AS ICE ASSISTANTS
The proper name of the breed is German shepherd dog.
Yes, the breed name has “dog” on the end.
