A Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, government agency is promoting an upcoming class by local leftist groups on “civil disobedience” from its social media accounts.
The city’s Commission on Human Relations (CHR) reposted a joint announcement on Saturday advertising the event by the Pittsburgh chapters of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the 50501 Movement on Instagram and X. The three-hour Tuesday evening talk will feature an unnamed “practitioner and trainer with extensive experience” and civil rights lawyer Mike Healey, according to the posts.

The session marks part two of a “Rebirthing Civil Disobedience” series hosted by the DSA and 50501 Pittsburgh, both taking place at the nonprofit Community Forge. Neither the organizations nor Healey responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment.
“This session will offer tactical training in the art of civil disobedience, grounded in real-world experience and historical context,” the DSA wrote in its own announcement on Facebook. “Whether you are new to this work or looking to deepen your skills, this training is designed to help you grow more confident, effective, and prepared.”
The CHR’s website calls the commission a “civil rights law enforcement agency focused on investigating instances of discrimination, providing outreach and education to communities about their rights, and recommending necessary protections in the City Code to provide all people in Pittsburgh with equal opportunities.”
“Our goal is to decrease unfair treatment and discrimination by promoting justice and understanding among communities in the City of Pittsburgh,” the website reads.
An announcement of Tuesday’s talk on 50501 Pittsburgh’s website says it will be livestreamed on YouTube, but assures in bold type that “no audience members will be shown on video.”
“Build your civil disobedience muscle,” the post says.
The 50501 Movement formed in 2025 to protest the second Trump administration and calls itself a “peaceful movement” on its website.

Nothing promotes “justice and understanding among communities” like an insurrection.
Socialist civil disobedience = try to kill ICE agents.
Any ICE folks invited? This is the insurrection we’ve been told about.
Lesson 1: Drive your car directly at the law enforcement agent and crush him beneath your wheels.
Lesson 2: The molotov cocktail is your best friend.
SEDITION: conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a government.

I suggest ICE set up a recruiting table at or near the larper's classroom.
This s story is dying on the vine. One big shrug outside of leftists, not like Floyd’s.
If that's "art" then Hunter Biden is more esteemed than Rembrandt and Da Vinci.
This esteemed and well read constitutional scholar Maxine Waters was already on this.

About George Floyd protests——
In a June 2020 interview, Rep. Maxine Waters discussed the George Floyd protests and stated, “Yes, I said ‘insurrection’: People acting out of frustration and hopelessness”.

The Federal agencies have already had “Head Bashing 101” and time on the range.
Shooting yourself in the foot. Teaching people to oppose the police protecting the politicians funding this.
Aiding someone who is breaking the law makes you culpable of their crime.
Big time.
Defund that public agency asap!!
Yank the plug out the wall.
The enemy are slowly showing their face, aim small miss small
The real author about civil disobedience was Henry David Thoreau. Today’s wokesters are nothing like him.
When arrested in 1846 for refusing to pay taxes to the US government because he said slavery and the Mexican American War benefited from them, his friend Ralph Waldo Emerson visited him in jail to arrange his release.
Emerson walked down the rows until Thoreau’s cell.
Shaking his head he asked: “Henry, what are you doing in there?”
Thoreau: “No, Waldo, the question is what are you doing still out there?”
Part of "if you strike the individual try to hit a place that has nothing vital inside."
“Socialist civil disobedience = try to kill ICE agents.”
This is backwards from what is in the advanced course taken by the driver of the lead car in MN.
Shift the Narrative and Headline from WELFARE FRAUD, POLITICAL CORRUPTION to ICE SHOOTS MOM 37.
Become a hero like George Floyd.
Everyone will remember you like George Floyd.
You will prove how valuable Lesbians are to the movement.
Promoting civil disobedience isn’t inherently a crime for a government agency, but it’s a complex legal area; while advocating peaceful law-breaking for reform is generally First Amendment-protected speech, the agency’s role changes if it incites imminent violence or directs specific illegal acts, potentially crossing into unprotected speech, though courts usually protect advocacy even for minor offenses as a vital part of protest, with penalties usually reserved for the actual unlawful actions like trespassing, not the idea itself.
Why it’s generally protected (but tricky):
<><>First Amendment: The right to protest and advocate for change, even illegal change, is broadly protected as political speech, says the ACLU and FIRE.
Brandenburg Test: Speech can only be criminalized if it’s intended to incite imminent lawless action and is likely to do so, a high bar FIRE.
<><>Advocacy vs. Action: The distinction is key; courts punish the act (trespassing, property damage) not the motive or advocacy for reform Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
When it could become problematic for an agency:
<><>Direct Incitement: If the agency’s promotion moves beyond general advocacy to actively directing or encouraging specific, immediate illegal acts (like “Go burn down that building now”), it loses protection, notes FIRE.
<><>Actual Lawbreaking: If the agency itself sponsors or directs illegal actions (e.g., vandalism, blocking traffic beyond permitted limits), those actions are subject to law, say EWU and the ACLU.
A government agency promoting civil disobedience as a tactic for social change falls within protected speech, but if that promotion leads to unprotected speech (imminent incitement) or illegal agency action, it becomes a legal issue, says FIRE.
