President Trump and other top officials were caught watching the Venezuelan raid in real-time. Obama watching the bin Laden raid in the Situation Room was a similar moment and photo op. But someone was missing in the Trump photos: Vice President JD Vance. Where was he? Even Biden was sitting next to Obama when Seal Team Six finally greased bin Laden.
Vance was kept away because the administration was becoming uneasy about having both men in the exact location, given the security conditions. It was a designated survivor scenario. Vance was involved with the raid:
“Vice President Vance was deeply integrated in the process and planning of the Venezuela strikes and Maduro’s arrest.
He joined several late night meetings via secure video conference with National Security principals leading up to the operation.
The Vice President briefly met with President Trump at the Trump golf club in West Palm Beach during the day Friday to discuss the strikes. The Vice President was not at Mar-a-Lago on Friday night, as the National Security team was concerned a late-night motorcade movement by the Vice President while the operation was getting underway may tip off the Venezuelans. The Vice President joined by secure video conference throughout the night to monitor the operation. He returned to Cincinnati after the operation concluded.
Due to increased security concerns, the Administration has aimed to limit the frequency and duration of the Vice President and President being co-located away from the White House.”

I do wish the world were safer, however prudent planning and precautions are an understandable necessity.
The potential irony of making a regime-change operation and at the same time having the US President and VP sitting in the same room was not lost on this Administration.

Obama had no reason to be afraid. WE were afraid that if something happened to Obama then Biden would be President. Turns out we had good reason for our fears.
I disagree with Vespa's whitewashing assessment.
What this tells me is that VP Vance's movements have emerged as a primary threat indicator.
Think 'decapitation.' Whoever would be directing this would only have one shot at such an action.
Not just 'better safe than sorry': It's in response to an active threat matrix.

I’d be worried about the deep state killing both Vance and Trump.
They should have been thinking this way. That is how the enemy also see it. Vance is a known quantity now. He can stand on his own and will remain consistent in his messages.
While President Trump has successfully gotten Maduro out of Venezuela, he has not been able to get Traitor Prog Marxist Democrats out of America, so the risk of another assassination attempt is almost certain.

As I understand it, that’s protocol in many situations e.g. flying on the same plane so it’s not exactly earth shattering news.
This is not exactly matt Vespa’s best work.
During the Biden interregnum we didn’t have to worry about these things. There was always a backup Otto Penn.
It makes sense of course, but the consequence for JD Vance is that Marco Rubio gets to be front and center, appearing as a statesman.
All the chatter on X today is that Rubio should be Trump's pick as a successor.
It is also exceedingly rare for a sitting V.P. to be elected as president in his own right (w/o death of sitting president) - only 3 have ever done so, John Adams, Martin Van Buren, and George H.W. Bush.
It was interesting former VP Mike Pence posted his support for the Venezuela operation on social media. Has he decided to move with the prevailing winds?
So the administration can execute an extremely difficult and complex law enforcement/military action flawlessly and cannot bring a motorcade for VP to be with Trump?
To me, this smells a bit. I certainly don’t know, but perhaps Trump wants to separate himself a bit from Vance. Just pure speculation, but the Vance/Carlson/Turning Point is uncomfortable.

Another reason Obama had no reason to be afraid - our side doesn’t assassinate U.S. Presidents, steal elections or otherwise betray America for political advantage.
