It’s a sneaky plan the 18 and 19 year olds who ‘volunteer’ do the training for 10 months then get sent home. When needed they get recalled to service later on.
Their initial short period of voluntary service locks them in for the more permanent service when called up for the future war with Russia.
And the spin from the government and media is that war is coming with Russia not to mention China.
