Where is the GOP?
11/6/2025 | Self

Posted on 11/06/2025 5:35:36 AM PST by HamiltonJay

Ok, so the house members are back in their districts, at least in theory until Nov 17th, due to the house being in recess.

The Government has been shutdown for more than a month.

SNAP benefits are cut, etc.. lawsuits are flying..

Democrats are daily out there blaming it on Republicans, which is garbage, but that's what they are doing.

So, where are the Republicans?

Why are they NOT out at the Food Banks and distribution sites? Why is the RNC and the other GOP PACS not donating and redirecting funds to food banks and other things?

They are home! They should every single day be at some even t in their home districts bagging food, handing out food, volunteering at some social services support organization etc... And they should be telling every reporter in those contexts what the GOP and republicans are doing and asking why the Democrats keep doing this to people.

Actions like this, would go far further to moving folks than press conferences and memes etc. I am not saying stop those things, but I am saying the GOP has a huge opportunity to reframe EVERYTHING, and move hearts and minds, particularly in the middle, by simple, actions.

Yet, where are they?

I am not asking this out of anger, I am truly asking. America is a wonderful place, full of caring people... Republicans should be right in this and showing it... The entire right should... Yet, where are they?

Senate Republicans should be introducing legislation and forcing votes daily, piece meal it if need be.. make Democrats excplicitely vote not to fund SNAP. Not to fund, x or y or z.. and with every no VOTE you should be out there on the ground visible doing what can be done to help those harmed by those funds not flowing.

Wow, where in anything I have posted, did I suggest stop fighting the democrats on policy or actions?

What fight do you feel the house members in their home districts are doing right now? What exactly are they doing to fight?

The fact you seem to not understand that wars are fought on many fronts is astounding.

You want to sway an individual to your argument, how do you think you do that most effectively? By policy arguments thousands of miles away, or by direct involvement with them and meeting them where they live?

“WHERE THE HECK IS THE LEADERSHIP!”

We have none. We’ve been rudderless for DECADES - my entire lifetime, actually.

We currently have President Trump. And that’s it. He’ll stem the tide for a while, but the ‘UniParty’ is massive and strong and works only for itself - not you. Not me.

Plan accordingly for you and yours.

“History tells us that in a few months nobody will care about this temporary spending disruption. Nobody.”

Correct answer.

We have been down this road so many times before....

Yes, I spent this week working the election so folks can vote, did you?

I also spent time collecting food for our local food bank, did you?

I also packed bags and distributed food for them as well, did you?

The failure to understand that this is a huge opportunity being MISSED is amazing.

Why is this so hard for folks to understand. What do you feel helped Trump more during his campaign.. when he was down in NC personally distributing aid, or when he was giving some speech to donors?

Both are useful and necessary things, but which do you think helped sway more votes?

Why is this so hard to understand.

Not sure what you are trying to prove.

Have you ever actually done meals on wheels, or worked in a food bank?

Price of items is not a counter argument to anything.

What exactly is your point here? Private folks working to help others somehow offends your sensitivities?

You don’t believe there are people in honest need?

Have no idea what you are trying to prove here.

“Why are they NOT out at the Food Banks and distribution sites?”

Because they would be subject to attack like with the townhalls.

And those attacks would be shown on the evening news.

No, no

But I see the food waste at bus stops a lot.

And the discarded clothes.

Then let them.

You think its a win for Dems if they are out there attacking people trying to help those in need?

Do you have any understanding of human nature or psychology at all?

Leftist acting like rabid animals does not help them, it further harms them.

So, you have zero first hand experience with it, but you know all about it through secondary observation.. I see.

Here’s a suggestion... Maybe actually spend some time doing the job and you might, just might, realize that your passing perceptions don’t give you a full picture.

Just a thought.

And where is the head of the RNC? That guy is invisible. No wonder Republicans got stomped on Tuesday. Midterms are going to be brutal.

“you have zero first hand experience with it”

I am probably in the lowest 1% of incomes of posters here.

I have a lot of experience living on little income.

Rack a lawn for pay and eat for nearly a month.

Hiding under a pew ...

They're not hiding anywhere. They're doing exactly what they planned to do when they ran for office, viz. negotiating deals, increasing their personal fortunes, and using their constituents as stepping stones in mud puddles.

Our congregation realized that there would be increased need after November 1st, so we stocked more than the usual amount for food distribution. Good thing, because we have seen much more than the usual requests over the past few days.
