Landlord has just received a letter from the Housing Authority saying after mid November, payments will be paused
“October is funded, partial of November is funded. After that, if the shutdown continues, we will not be getting paid our rent”
No way their voting base is going to allow that.
But I guess they made their point... ?? They're willing to harm Americans to help illegals. I think we knew that already.

Thune could corner them the same way as it’s been rumored he may corner them on paying the military - introduce a bill that ONLY temporarily funds Section 8 and EBT/SNAP. Force the Dems into voting “No” on that just to sustain their war against Trump...
True story: Years ago one of my relatives owned several Section 8 apartment buildings. The gubmint (taxpayers) were paying him around $800 per month per unit. The tenants, all L’Shaqinya types, were supposed to kick in $50 a month. He had nine units. Not a single tenant paid the $50 per month regularly and most never paid it at all. He didn’t care. The gubmint money was solid, and on time, every month.
I like that approach.
It stands “line item veto” on its head.
The veto says “I reject these particular parts of the budget” and I guess that veto approach doesn’t fly.
Thune could instead piecemeal the budget and offer individual slices — vote for this? vote for that? Let’s see what the priorities really are.

What do the dems care about Sec 8 payments? It’s the evil landlords that joined the program that are going to get screwed. As if the Sec 8 welfare recipients are going to be kicked out of their houses because the gov’t didn’t pay the rent? Right. The dems problem will be if their slaves’ food cards are empty or their free cell phones stop working.

In the contract that landlords sign for Section 8 residents the landlord is forbidden to evict the resident if the government doesn’t pay! That won’t bother the Dims.
