Reactions continue to pour in following the death of President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints. Nelson passed away at his home in Salt Lake City just after 10 p.m. Saturday night.
ABC4 spoke with LDS Church members at Temple Square about the passing of President Nelson following the airing of Music and The Spoken Word, and the impact he had on their lives.
“It was just a very beautiful experience,” said Tobin Hansen, who attended the program in person. “President Nelson did so much good for everyone and touched so many hearts.”

I hope to be doing something useful myself at the age of 101 but it will probably be fertilizing beds of wild flowers in Utah.
I love Mormons as people but their theology, hoo boy.
Agree. They are getting bent out of shape because people who know the reality of it, will NOT call them Christian while talking about the LDS, excuse me, Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints. This following that tragedy in Michigan.
He finally knows the truth.
Too late to set him free.
The Mormon church close to me is beautiful. Two men walking out the door were very polite to me. And extremely handsome.. Haven’t heard a single negative thing about them.
Except:. Mitt Romney is a Mormon. And when he left D.C. he put his large dog in a crate tied to the top of the car. Should be charged with animal cruelty.
It brings to mind that song “Only the good die young”.
Romney is far more than a regular Mormon, he has been a high religious leader within the church and was seen as even a religious figure of prophecy by many, as it is he will become a god when he dies and rule over a planet as their god.

Is it a grand and ornate palace like structure? A Temple?
Hard to understand that. Zero logic or common sense. And he’s not holy at all. He’s an unmitigated asshat.
So I can see what’s wrong with Mormonism. Thanks for clueing me in.
No. Just a pretty little neighborhood church.
All Mormons are allowed into those regular church buildings, but the Temples are only for the most elite and holy, which means they can prove that they give at least 10% of their gross to the Mormon church.
Mitt Romney, Harry Reid, and Glenn Beck all have been issued the ID required to enter the ornate Temples which has to be investigated and renewed regularly, something that Harry Reid, now that he is a god, can’t do anymore, besides, he has a planet to rule over.
I think that prophecy expired when he failed to become president.
The vast majority of Mormons I’ve known with one exception were all around super nice people.
I never got a sermon or anything.
Wouldn’t you hate to have harry Reid as your god?
Russ Nelson was a heart surgeon in real life. His first wife died and the next girl he took was far younger. He took himself quite seriously and forbade the word Mormon among the Corporation’s common names. He mandated the mouth full, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in all conversations.
Russ will be succeeded by Dallin Oaks, a lawyer, who got his fingers dirty in a fake document/bombing murder spree in the 80’s, which you can read in the book Mormon Murders.
Soon the old LDS apostles will all be off building new planets, making way for a new generation of woke apostles. Temple marriages will be more diverse.
I share the skepticism about details of Mormon theology but I think the overall idea that God considers North America to be a promised land for Christians is a good idea (not saying that is unique to LDS). I also find the cultural influence to be more positive than negative but that’s from the outside and I can see how women in particular would find that difficult to accept. It’s a very patriarchal society even now, let alone how the breakaway sects function reflecting what it was like before statehood.
Anyone who tries to pass off the so-called Book of Abraham as being written by Abraham, being properly tanslated and being a core book in their canon... well, they are passing off a lie that they know to be a lie.
It is nothing more than a funarary document. Joe Smith was a shyster....
Years ago we were visiting good friends of ours (Mormons) at their new home in another state. The brand new temple in town had just opened. It was beautiful in a beautiful setting, and they were very proud of it.
Later one night with just my wife and our kids I pulled to the side of the road to look at the temple in the evening. All lighted up with the mountains in the background.
I told the kids that yes our friends our great people, but their religion is a lie. And just like so many things in this world, Satan will dress up his lies real nice - like the beautiful temple.
