My oldest brother who introduced me to Free Republic online back in 1997 while I was nursing my 3rd baby in the middle of the night ( I guess I was complaining about the isolation of the 3AM feeding) has died after a long struggle with Alzheimers. In his senior year of St. Mary's high school in Manhasset NY he was accepted to West Point, Annapolis and the AirForce Academy but chose Notre Dame. After graduation he was drafted into the army and sent to Germany as his younger brother was already fighting in Vietnam. They both came home - thank God! He worked in NYC social services administration. He was a devout Catholic to the end of his life.
Condolences for your loss. Alzheimers and Dementia are such cruel diseases. Now he is free from that.
Amen.
So sorry to hear about your brother. Sincere condolences!
So sorry for your loss ma’am, but grateful for you both having found FR.
With thanks for his service,
May God welcome him home, and give you peace of mind.
May you continue to glorify God and may we all meet up in Heaven.
Condolences on your loss. May your memories of your brother, and his good deeds throughout life, bring you and your family some solace.
Thanks for posting. Condolences to you and the remainder of your brother’s family and friends. R.I.P., sir.
Eternal rest grant unto him, and may perpetual light shine upon him. By the mercy of God, may he and all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
You and your family have my deepest condolences.
As a physician, I’ve seen and treated and lost many a patient to dementia but experienced it first hand with my mother-in-law’s decades long decline into dementia and her passing in 2019. at the age of 86. Now my wife is exhibiting clear signs of dementia at age 65 and it terrifies me.
God bless you and yours and I pray for a cure for what was once a much rarer condition.
My condolences for your loss. My mother passed away back in May after a lengthy bout with alzheimers/dementia so I know what you went through. May God grant you all the kind of peace that only He can provide. God bless you.
There often comes a relief after the end of a long struggle.
I hope you find it. I lost my wife of 42 yrs after 10 years
dealing with Alzheimer’s. Time heals but it seems as long as the cause.
Condolences to you and everyone affected, Domestic Church. The next plane waits for us all.
Condolences for the family’s loss, and happiness for a dear Christian gone to his reward!
Sorry to hear the news. Thanks for letting us know.
I am so sorry for your loss.
May he rest in peace, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
Prayers that our Lord will send you solace and comfort.
