They used to all be white. On the 18th century man-o'-wars, they would paint the gun deck red to help hide the blood that was spilled during a gun battle.
Waffle House might have adopted a similar practice.

That Manager is a brawler, a good ol Street Fighting Man.
When necessary , he can be just as aggressive and reckless as the Thugs are. It was good to see, but hopefully the franchise owner won’t fire him. No more trying to be a Saint Sebastian, stoically enduring the slings and arrows of the unwashed. Not tonight, anyway.
