Democrat North Carolina Governor Josh Stein broke his deafening silence on the senseless and unprovoked murder of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska by 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. on the Charlotte light rail.
After posting his statement on X and using the moment to push his political agenda, suggesting that his budget proposal will fix the issue and calling on the legislature to pass it, Stein got hit with a brutal Community Note on X, calling him out for avoiding the real issue.
He attempted to claim that incidents like this are “why my budget calls for more funding to hire more well-trained police officers.” But social media users were quick to point out that the issue wasn’t policing. It was policies that allowed violent repeat offenders back onto the streets, as was done countless times with Decarlos Brown.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Brown murdered Zarutska last month by stabbing her multiple times on the Charlotte, North Carolina, light rail as bystanders did nothing.
The lunatic had a long criminal rap sheet, with arrests dating back to 2007. He was later arrested at least six more times on charges, including felony larceny, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and communicating threats, according to the Daily Mail. Most of the charges were dropped.
Other reports and social media posts suggest he may have been arrested and released at least 12 times.
A real solution to this crisis of releasing criminals back to the streets to victimize innocent civilians is being proposed in Congress with a bill, introduced by GOP Rep. Jeff Fine (FL), to hold radical judges accountable for releasing criminals back onto the streets to commit heinous crimes.
Full statement from Stein below:
I am heartbroken for the family of Iryna Zarutska, who lost their loved one to this senseless act of violence, and I am appalled by the footage of her murder. We need more cops on the beat to keep people safe. That’s why my budget calls for more funding to hire more well-trained police officers. I call upon the legislature to pass my law enforcement recruitment and retention package to address vacancies in our state and local agencies so they can stop these horrific crimes and hold violent criminals accountable.
Surveillance video from the incident shows Brown, unprovoked, stabbing Zarutska from the seat behind her on the light rail, then wandering around the rail car with what appears to be blood on the floor.
Democrats are POS.
Bystanders did nothing?
I believe it is quite clear to all that the law favors the criminal.
Does this journalist have a freaking clue?
Someone ask Cooper-Scooper if he thinks the perp should have been released to murder again.
Its a weapon to unseat established Democrats, Repubs just need to guts to pick it up and use it.
Many years ago the liberals called for a huge boycott of orange juice in Florida because Rush was a sponsor. Within a few days, sales rose to a very high level.
What if we call for boycotts on advertisers that advertise in NY Times and other liberal venues?
When criminals whether they be mentally ill or even sane are arrested on multiple occasions for violent crimes, they have put society on notice that they are dangerous and ought not be allowed to live free among us. The law in all states gives judges the power and duty to remove this miscreants and put them in prison. However it seems that whether it be Democrat appointed Federal judges or state and local judges in Democrat controlled areas, these robed jurists are drunk with power and politics. There needs to be a radical reform of the judiciary.
The police are understaffed only because the criminals are on the street. Put the criminals in prison where they belong, and the police staffing will be at a natural level.
>>> bystanders did nothing
Bernhard Goetz did something once, so did Daniel Perry. Leftists politicians tried to destroy them; learn from their mistakes.
How many extra cops should we hire, one for every 5 violent criminals released?
We could tell the judges how many criminals we can release based on our “extra cops” budget.
You're a funny guy.
“””he Tries to Blame Understaffing of Police”””
I notice how the DEM Governor blames the police.
The Police have arrested this bad dude many times.
The Governor needs to put the blame where it belongs.
Namely, the leftist PROSECUTING ATTORNEYS and the JUDGES who have let this bad dude out on probation many times instead of putting the bad dude in prison.
Decarlos Brown Jr. is to Josh Stein what Willie Horton was to Michael Dukakis.
NEVER let Stein’s name be mentioned without Decarlos Brown’s.
One thing the Democrats have mastered in the Pass-the-Buck defense of all of their failures. Most Democrat majors and governors have Democrat-controlled legislatures or City Councils, so you are really blaming yourself for not fixing the problem. Time that people point the figure at the Democrats rather than fall for their unending excuses.
There’s aplenty enough liberals out there to negate any boycott of liberal establishments............
He’s NOT heartbroken, he could care less..he put this POS on the street knowing what he would do and he didnt care, all in the name of “equity”
There weren't any bystanders. The stabbing happened so fast, nobody saw it until after the fact.
Given the same situation, what would you have done if sitting in front of the car with the other passengers, not knowing what happened in the back of the car?
