When a tragedy like the one at Annunciation Catholic School on August 27 unfolds, the knee-jerk reaction from Democrats and their allies in the corporate media is to demand more gun grabs and recruit Republicans to pass red flag laws.

There is a solution, however, that wouldn’t require any further encroachment on law-abiding Americans’ Second Amendment rights. In fact, the answer lies in the very paperwork and background checks that leftists often claim aren’t enough of an obstacle to guns.

But it’s not, by default, a mental illness... it is depravity lived out without fear of the culture calling it out as the depravity it is. And being further emboldened, these reprobate and given-to-evil people then just do more and more evil as a means of expressing their depravity.

The decent into political chaos began with the 1973 decision by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to remove homosexuality as a mental disorder from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). The decision by psychiatry led the way for choosing to relinquish attempts at scientific rigor and instead sought popular societal and political acclaim. The DSM became a refuge for treatments accommodating social contagions, promoting drug marketing strategies, and for posting political manifestos. The remaining true science in the document simply became an inert medium for these active ingredients. This approach carried over into other sexual disorders and has allowed medical doctors as well to consider progressive/liberal ideological theories of social justice (?) as true science and serve as a priority for choosing diagnosis and treatment.

Gender affirming care makes as much sense in most of these cases as delusion affirming care would make for psychosis. It seems likely that the most severe cases probably involve an element of somatic delusion, as well as other types of profoundly disordered thinking. The cocktail of prescription drugs given to many of these patients can unpredictably increase their inner turmoil, diminish their impulse control, and place them at greater risk of acting out. It also doesn’t help that many of these patients are encouraged, at least implicitly, to view themselves as victims of society and entitled to revenge.

Very few mass murders, not done by organized crime, before the 1970s when most of the mental institutions were closed down and the crazies dumped on the streets.
I can remember three mass killings.

When the mental hospitals closed mass murders took off like a rocket.
