Trump Just ABANDONED Ukraine — Russia Now Controls The War | Professor John Mearsheimer
Secret of Secrets ^ | 8/21/2025 | Dan Brown

Posted on 08/22/2025 7:53:27 AM PDT by SaxxonWoods

Trump now realizes that he can't manage an end to the war. It's out of his hands. So what he's very subtly doing, and you saw all sorts of evidence of it yesterday, is pushing the responsibility for the war and for dealing with Putin onto the ha into onto into the hands of the Europeans uh and the Ukrainians who again are working very closely together. So, I think there's a fundamental change taking place..."

I would assume Russia DOES have “imperial ambitions.” And it’s hard to hold that against them. They’re operating no differently than the U.S. would do if the Mexican government had asked China to establish a military presence there.

>I think the real problem is whoever controls Zelensky.

Well, now it’s a synergy between NATO/EU and the AZOV radicals that are out commanding the troops. Zelensky told AZOV to disarm and stop attacking Russian ethics in 2019 and they told them they’d drag his dead body through the streets if he tried to stop them.

Within 3 years, he was also NATO’s boy at the beginning of the 2022 war and then 2 years later, Zelensky went after the guy that got him there, Kolomoisky.

Ukraine’s created its own web that is difficult to escape.

Trump couldn’t have been delusional enough to think he could be a “mediator” between Russia and Ukraine. You can’t mediate a political-military conflict when you are imposing sanctions against one side and bankrolling the other.

It’s like playing an NFL game and having the front office staff of one team serve as the officiating crew.

The USA needs to be completely uninvolved in this proxy war both $ and weapons. Not our monkeys - not our circus!

Yeah, most unfortunate. NATO/Ukraine could have made a better deal and saved many lives before Putin got started. That chance is long gone now.

WAR, Unnh, what is good for?! Absolutely nothing! (in this case).

Mearsheimer, is absolutely correct that President Trump is doing a brilliant job of systematically washing US hands of the war with Ukraine and handing responsibility of to the EU

The EU, the US proxy warriors and Zlenensky have bee working to engineer an international crisis in the Ukraine as funding for weapons supplies and financial support to Ukraine expire in the fall of 2025

The goal is to force President Trump to reopen the weapons and financial aid floodgates to Ukraine, force the US military to intervene directly in the fighting to keep the Russians from overrunning the country and to ultimately kill domestic political support for Trump so he loses the House in 2026 and is impeached by House Democrats in 2027.

It's a simple plan but it looks like Trump has flipped the script on the EU with a very sophisticated full spectrum counter to the European's scheme by committing to SELL the EU the weapons to supply to Ukraine and firmly putting himself into the Peace Broker and successfully casting himself as the only adult in the room when it comes to the war in Ukraine.

So now it's going to be on the EU to sort out the mess they have created in Ukraine by either picking up the 300 billion per year price tag to float the Ukraine war (which is not likely) or sort out the disaster when the Ukraine implodes (which is likely).

And when the war ends, thanks to the brilliant so called "Minerals Deal" President Trump hold right of first refusal over any rebuilding or economic development in Ukraine while committing the US to absolutely nothing

At the same time, Trump has executed a coordinated operation to defang and ultimately bring to justice his seditious (and potentially treasonous) war mongering domestic opposition that is conspiring to use the war in Ukraine to bring the Trump administration down .

The timing of the moves against the intelligence community, the FBI, the Clinton and Obama political machines, the Biden Administration, the Bolton raid and the moves against people like Adam Schiff are no coincidence.

At the same time, the Trump administration has been mobilizing and empowering law enforcement to get control of Washington and the rest of the Democrat rent a riot venues to block the Democrat's . plans for the professional left to ignite the BLM/ Antifa's Summer of Love II putsch

I'm cautiously optimistic that Trump is going to bring the Peace Agreement to reality and that the Ukraine is going to be the negotiating masterstroke that firmly enshrines Donald Trump as one of the great presidents of all time.

The war will end—when Mr. Z. is out or the Uke Army bolts. When T-90s roll in Kiev then a treaty will be formed and it will not be a good one for Ukraine.

Trump couldn’t have been delusional enough to think he could be a “mediator”... You can’t mediate a political-military conflict when you are imposing sanctions against one side and bankrolling the other.

It appears you are yet at the bottom of the learning curve that fits this model.

Mediators typically rely on specific, solid subject matter ("been there, done that") experience that can be used to assist the parties in reaching a solution.

When the parties are awake the mediator happens to have additional, coincidental leverage, the mediator can be very successful.

Perhaps you just need more time in the real world.

I think a reasonable peace deal document that allows Ukraine to retain what it still has of Donetsk should be prepared for Putin’s signature ASAP. This can be prepared by the Department of State and given to Zelensky for his review and approval.

The best way of finding out if Putin and Zelensky are going to be reasonable is to offer up such a document.

And yes, it has to be a signature ready document - “the devil is in the details.”

If Putin gets reasonable cause to believe that snatching the rest of Donetsk is a practical proposition, then it will be lost to Ukraine.

Time is of the essence.

There is something to be said about such a position; however, some involvement in this instance buys the U.S. a seat at the table. Being a peacemaker in the world of nations can be a wonderful thing. Imagine instead of the globe we were talking about a small town. (Sending draftee troops to act as law enforcement elsewhere in the world is a different matter.)

I agree. You can’t get to an agreement without offering one. Putin put what he wants in writing, high time Ukraine did the same.

I think that this was supposed to be Hillary’s war. Even though she got a lot of money from Russia, the US government was funding azov militia. A couple of congressmen tried to stop funding to far-right groups in 2016 and congress voted it down so that azov/ukraine would continue to get funded for it.

I also think Putin didn’t imagine someone he had given so much money to would lose the election.

Yes, things are getting interesting and we are actually closer to an agreement than ever if Europe doesn’t blow it all up.

Your view in #32 is spot on and is the type of move that would/could be considered by a competent mediator.

To the extent the parties remain unmovable, it appears Trump finds value in the process if only to impress Ukraine's allies.

Best for you to search them up yourself. They are mostly about what land Russia wants. I wouldn’t get it right from memory.
