Announcing the 2025-26 Yahoo! Football Pick'em Fantasy League
Yahoo Sports ^ | Aug 20 2025 | Texas Booster

Posted on 08/19/2025 11:18:41 PM PDT by texas booster

For about the 20th year, one of Free Republic's members is pleased to create a Yahoo! Pick'em Fantasy Football league.

The league rules are simple:

** Pick the winners of each game

** Assign a confidence value to each game

** Post messages to each other on the message board that include bad puns

** Donate generously to Free Republic at the end of the season in the name of the top point earner

That's about it. It is a wonderful time waster that really doesn't take much time. I tend to pick all the games in preseason for all 17 weeks, then look them over to decide if I really like that pick.

Simple, easy, with no public wagering and lots of fun.

The team number this year is 802 - "Free Republic Pick'em".

Drop that in the team number and FReepmail me for the password.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Thank you very much for joining, and blessings to everyone.

I don't think we need to nominate the Dallas Jerry's-Boys for a 17-0 season, but just so you know, he is all in and working harder than ever to ensure a championship.

Or at least a big bucket of money for his family.

Yahoo seems to always be posting anti-Trump narratives. Why grace them with monetizable clicks?

Because of history and inertia, I guess.

The fantasy league started there and other options just aren’t as good.

If I based my Internet clicking on an anti-Trump vibe, I would have very few sites to go.

I would guess if I were serious about the football fantasy thing, I would see if I could GUARANTEE that I could make money on it.

And that’s why we don’t even pretend to be about the money.

It makes people do silly things, like gamble away the rent.

Nope, with our collective years of wisdom we choose to do this for fun.

Any money that would be spent is better off being donated to Free Republic.

FR is why we all know each other. It is truly a unique place on the web.

NFL teams will again stencil messages in the end zone, including ‘End Racism’ and ‘Choose Love’

You need to create a Yahoo mail account. Mine serves as my spam email.

Once created try this:

Yahoo Fantasy Sports group 802

And that should let you into the group. Password for the group will be in your FReepmail.

I’ve had a mail account for years. It still shows up as an error. I’ll keep trying. Thank you.
