Pam Bondi and Kash Patel tapped Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey to serve as Co-Deputy Director of the FBI.
Fox News reported:
Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel are bringing on Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey as an additional deputy director of the bureau, Fox News Digital has learned.
Bailey will serve as a co-deputy director, alongside Deputy Director Dan Bongino, Fox News Digital has learned.
“I am thrilled to welcome Andrew Bailey as Co-Deputy Director of the FBI,” Bondi told Fox News Digital. “He has served as a distinguished state attorney general and is a decorated war veteran, bringing expertise and dedication to service. His leadership and commitment to country will be a tremendous asset as we work together to advance President Trump’s mission.”
“The FBI, as the leading investigative body of the federal government under the Department of Justice, will always bring the greatest talent this country has to offer in order to accomplish the goals set forth when an overwhelming majority of American people elected President Donald J. Trump again,” Patel told Fox News Digital, adding that Bailey will be an “integral part of this important mission” and said he looks forward to “the continued fight to save America together.”
Bailey is a staunch Trump supporter and fought against crooked prosecutors targeting Trump with lawfare.
Recall that last year Andrew Bailey filed a lawsuit against the State of New York, accusing it of an unconstitutional attack on the democratic process through its legal actions against President Donald Trump.
In 2023, Bailey filed a brief at the US Supreme Court to halt Special Counsel Jack Smith’s move to circumvent the appellate court in his January 6 case against President Trump.

Wait. Is a co-Deputy the same as a Deputy, or does he answer to the Deputy? Not sure I’ve heard of such a thing.

From AI: The position of FBI Deputy Co-Director does not exist. The FBI has a Deputy Director, but not a Deputy Co-Director.
I definitely think it’s one of the two since the position has never existed.
I imagine Bongino is grateful. The work load being assumed by Patel and Bongino in order to clean up the Deep State mess must be colossal.
Far too many people here have any appreciation for the immensity of the problem. It was constructed over a period of a hundred plus years.
I am from Missouri, but I will believe it when I see results.
Hopefully he says as he’s a good guy, but it’s also important to be a good team player, and to air differences internally, not in public. If Bongino throws another hissy and demands “her or me”, this will make the answer very easy.
Bongino is an investigator, Bailey is an attorney. Two separate skill sets, both needed to properly clean house. The optimist in me wants to believe this is to compliment each others’ strengths in doing what needs to be done.
