That's not cheese you're smelling in the Wisconsin air. It's Astroturf.
Friday's Morning Joe played an extended clip from a town hall held by Republican Congressman Bryan Steil in his 1st Congressional District of Wisconsin (Paul Ryan's old seat in the southeast corner of the state).
Steil was unfailingly polite, to the point of saying that he welcomed disagreement. But that didn't earn him an ounce of grace from the audience, which was raucously hostile to him, with repeated booing and jeering. He couldn't get through his first sentence aired without being interrupted by the Democrat crowd.
Every single comment or question shown from people in attendance was negative. Not one expression of support for Steil, Trump, or Republican policies. That could have been deceptive editing by Morning Joe, but it seems unlikely given the overwhelming opposition to Steil apparent when the audience's reactions were shown.
This despite Steil winning the 2024 election by over 10 points, and Trump winning in all but one of the counties in the district, one by 22 points. One man, vowing to work against him in any future election, told Steil that he did not represent Walworth County. Ya mean, the Walworth County that Steil carried by 28 POINTS?

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Probably paid “protestors” by Soros money.
Yes they are paid protesters. This is an attempt to reenact Tea Party protests against Obamacare. Obama’s congressional majorities got wiped out in the mid terms.
Also RPW was asleep at the switch-AGAIN They should have sent out a STATEWIDE blast to rally attendance but RPW Chair Brian Schimming and Never Trump uber weasel Speaker Robin Vos are more interested in purging conservative dissent.
As long as these two call the shots, Conservatives will not win another statewide election and will be Illinois level irrelevant after 2026.
Morning Joe, a turd that comes up in the eastern sky, trying to block all sunlight.
Could be public school teachers or union goons.
It’s cheaper to hire a small mob of shills than a whole street full of thugs. I’m guessing George Soros’ son is tighter with the cash.
Same scams are done at ‘school board’ meetings.
All lies. Paid fake ‘protestors ...
How to spot a hired mob? They sit in a triangle formation in the room to make it look like there’s more of ‘em than there are - AND the applaud each other... How to spot a paid outside mob? Hired drummers... expensive ‘props’...
Our guys need to wise up.
Townhalls are nothing but clown shows as a way for the demented elderly geezers to earn some easy money. Look at the maggots carrying all these communist protest signs. They are all retired elderly maggots trying to earn some money without having to do anything for it but show up and shoot off their big mouths.
Paul Ryan is from Janesville, Wisconsin, about 30 minutes north of where I live in Northern Illinois. He only had the seat that long because his family has been there for decades and everybody knew him. Janesville is not in Walworth county, it’s in Rock County, just west of there. From what I’ve seen he’s considerably better than the RINO that Ryan was. As here, in IL-16, We now have Darin Lahood, Ray’s baby boy, a true back bencher after finally ridding ourselves of Adam Kinzinger. Bur that’s another story.
The rodents breath therefore they lie.
Even deep red districts have their share of the loonie left. These townhall disruptions aren’t fooling anyone. You can recruit a hundred left-wing nuts in any town in this country.
Depressing. Like the gal said at the end: whether organic to the area’s population, or highly organized by the dems, it is Big Bad News for republicans.
Wisconsin dems sent out a sratewide Blast. In contrast RPW did nothing
