Violence is accelerating under Syria’s new Islamist government, as is the persecution of ethnic and religious minorities. This tragedy was entirely predictable. As far back as Barack Obama’s first term, critics warned that Washington’s flirtation with and assistance to Sunni Arab radicals would turn out badly. Nevertheless, Joe Biden’s administration persisted in that approach in an effort to overthrow the secular government of Bashar al-Assad. From the standpoint of US policymakers, Assad had committed two unpardonable sins. He transformed his country into Iran’s closest regional ally, and he forged closer ties with Vladimir Putin’s Russia. Indeed, Russian air power played an important role in 2016 in enabling Syrian government forces to rout the predominantly Sunni insurgency and regain control of key portions of Syria.

“The Collapse of Syria Has Begun”
inevitable and 100% predicted ...
within a year, Syria will be another failed country ...

(The usual results of globalist neolib/neocon meddling.)
Yep
“Washington’s Syria policy has brought ruin to yet another small country and created conditions for even more human tragedy in a volatile region.”
total hogwash: Syria destined to implode no matter what Washington’s policy was ...
Washington told us to avoid foreign entanglements. That was good advice, ignored by most presidents from Woodrow Wilson on.
Has Syria been made better by ousting Assad? No. If anything the Christians (and Alawites and Druze) have been made much worse off. It looks like its going to disintegrate into becoming a failed state.
So why the hell did we get involved again?
مثل الذباب للقذارة
More refugees on the way.
Stand clear of this one.
From Israel's perspective, that's more than just talk. Hezbollah repeatedly attacked Israel with Iranian weapons smuggled through Syria into Lebanon, while Israel was at war with Hamas in Gaza. Israel had good reason to hit military assets just north of their border (helping the fall of Asaad). IMHO it's understandable for Israel to want to stop the status quo and hope the next regime is better. If not, the next regime will have to go too.
I cant read that. I’m going to assume you were just congratulating me for predicting that this would happen.
The current Syrian government came to power with a lot of backing from Turkey with the price being control of the Kurds. The Turks achieved only limited success in that respect since the Kurds are backed by the US and funded by Syrian oil controlled by the US.
At the same time the current regime is trying to back away from Erdogan's neo-Ottoman Empire delusions while trying to keep a lid on sectarian violence against the Alawite, Druze and Christian minorities who backed the Assad regime. All with reduced or cut-off funding from Erdogan.
In addition, the Israelis continue to attack forces inside Syria they consider inimical to their interests, which is simply foolish in light of the fact that the current regime had extended considerable feelers to the Israelis about a modus vivendi as both have a strong interest in keeping Hezbollah and Iran out of Syria.
A moderate Sunni dictatorship that keeps a lid on the sectarian violence and keeps Hezbollah and Iran out is in everyone's interests.
100%
To make it easier for the small hats to expand their country?
