Senator Lindsey Graham (Judiciary Committee) and Senator John Cornyn (SSCI) are requesting Attorney General Pam Bondi to appoint a special counsel to look into the Obama administration’s weaponization of the U.S. Intelligence Community to target Donald Trump with fabricated smears and false evidence using a fraudulent Russia connection.
This should be an immediate hard no for a few reasons. Number one, the special counsel process is where investigations go to die intentionally as a design of the legislative branch defense process. Second, the special counsel would not have cross-silo access to exfiltrate information unless it was accompanied by very specific Presidential authority. It just will not work.

That shows you the interest in this from the non-MAGA GOP. None. Bastards. Appoint a special prosecutor, and it will take 6-12 months just to staff the office. Plus finding non-Communist lawyers in DC, forget it. I don’t really blame Durham. He was given an impossible task. He probably had about 5-10 investigators he could trust, investigating a conspiracy involving hundreds, if not thousands of criminals. And he only had a very short amount of time to do it.
Gabbard seems to be finding some of these long-hidden documents. Let her keep going. Once we get some more of these, schedule hearings. Get all these criminals in front of the Senate and the American people. Throw it back in their faces. “What specifically, chapter and verse, is your evidence President Trump was colluding with the Russians? What was discussed in the Situation Room on December 9, 2016??”

The strike force can be used to gain and analyze information suitable for prosecution. Information, analysis and recommendations are turned over to DOJ for prosecution.
The special prosecutor is an unnecessary political impediment to control by the DOJ and the president. I think we’ve seen too often that these “independent” agencies and offices go rogue because they are subject to outside and nefarious influences
I want Trump to oversee this process because he is the most trustworthy person at the WH.
