Israel is now the champion of minority rights.

First they came for the Alawites, then they came for the Christians. Now they are coming for the Druze.

Ever since regime change in Syria last December, the country had not exactly offered safety to its minorities, despite President Ahmed al-Sheraa's (al-Julani) fine words that he is the head of all Syrians, not just Sunnis.

Druze have been murdered in the town of Suweida, there has been massacre, mutilation and humiliation.

In fact there are suspicions that Al-Julani’s own forces slaughtered the entire staff at Suweida’s hospital along with their patients and carried out extrajudicial executions.

The international community has been conspicuous by its silence: no Jews, no news. The international media have reverted to form, obscuring who are the real aggressors and blaming Israel for de-stabilising Syria. They have deflected from Syrian atrocities against the Druze by decrying Israel's symbolic bombing of the Ministry of Defence in Damascus.

Only one country has rushed to intervene to save their Druze blood brothers: Israel.

The Druze are an ancient offshoot of Islam but are viewed by Islamists as heretics. Israel is committed to protecting its 150,000-member Druze minority. They serve in the IDF, often with distinction, and in the security services.

But there is a wider significance to Israel's intervention - the Jewish state has taken on the mantle of champion of Middle Eastern minority rights.

Until the destruction of the Jewish communities of the Arab world, Jews were one of the oldest indigenous minorities in the Middle East, itself a rich tapestry of different tribes, religions and sects. Yet people insist on viewing political rights in the region as belonging exclusively to Arab Muslims: 22 Arab states were created by European colonialists (who drew arbitrary lines on a map). Only Zionism is treated and rejected as a a creature of western colonialism.

Mesmerised by the romance of the Palestinian cause, the West routinely ignores the plight of other minorities. There are five times as many Kurds as Palestinians, but where are the calls for their rights?

While disproportionate attention has been paid to the Balfour Declaration's call for a homeland for the Jews, it is often forgotten that Kurds, Assyrians and other non-Arab minorities also sought self- determination the wake of World War One. They were betrayed by colonial powers, who broke their promises and surrendered to the demands of the pan-Arab nationalists.

Instead of giving minorities the right to be different the nationalist ethos has invested a predominantly Arab Sunni elite with power, and oppressed Berbers, Assyrians, Baloch and Kurds.

Religious minorities - Copts, Druze, Baha'i's, Yazidis, Mandaeans - do not aspire to self-determination but do deserve to have their rights protected. The record of Arab regimes here has been abysmal. It's a safe bet that even if Israel had not existed, Jews, Zoroastrians, Bahais and Copts would continue to have been pushed out of the Middle East.

This is because, to quote the great historian Bernard Lewis:' in the Muslim world view it is right and proper that power should be wielded by Muslims and Muslims alone. Others may receive tolerance, even the benevolence of the Muslim state, provided they clearly recognise Muslim supremacy.'

Israel stands out as the only sovereign non-Muslim state in the Middle East (Lebanon was carved out of Syria by the French as a safe haven for Maronite Christians, but these are now a dwindling minority in a fragmented state until recently dominated by the Iran-backed Hezbollah.) Without an army, Israel would be as vulnerable to massacre as the Yazidis - who were targeted for rape, massacre and forced conversion by ISIS in Iraq.

This could conceivably have been the fate of Mizrahi Jews, 99 percent of whom have fled the Arab Middle East. In his essay ‘Mizrahi Nation’, the Israeli journalist and author Matti Friedman writes: “The construction of the state of Israel, in which Mizrahi Jews have been partners of numeric equality (if not other forms of equality) for over 66 years, provided the stateless Jews of the Middle East with self-determination in their native region and turned them from an endangered minority into half of a majority.

Indeed, as Friedman puts it, having your own sovereign state and the power to defend it is the only way to survive in the hostile environment that is the Middle East. His words have never been truer.

God.... more of the Israeli gaslighting with a 10,000 watt bulb.

Israel is pretending they are rescuing the Druze. They forget to mention the Druze and others were fine until Israel and the CIA launched their ISIS war and removed Assad.
They successfully installed the ISIS leader and called him “president”.

Bottom line, Israel is thrilled with Syria as a failed state, with a patchwork of competing groups in constant turmoil. That is great for Israeli security.... but it’s morally and ethically bankrupt.

In he last few days we have seen a flood of IDF protecting Christians in Syria propaganda stories. Just more lies covering up what they and the CIA did.... and trying to tamp down the damage from their Epstein ring.

By the way, gaslighting is supposed to be dim... not with that 10,000 watt light.

Israel is the champion of minority rights? Just not those of Christians

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu hypocritically expresses “deep sorrow”....and “apologizes”
for the killing and maiming from Israel’s bombing a Catholic Church in Gaza.

And here we are gaslighted by Israel that all those Gazans need to be annihilated because they’re nothing but hate-filled Muslim terrorists. No mention of Gazan Catholics....... and other Gazan Christians........

On 24 October this year, Joe Biden, then-President, said that the US supports Israel based on “our principles, ideals, [and] values. They are the same values,” Biden emphasized.

He is talking about “values and ideals,” giving the sap-happy impression that the US and Israel “share the noble ideals and principles of freedom and equally value democracy, where human rights and law are highly regarded.........even for Christians. “

This is a far-from-reality comment, and it makes Biden, as President, complicit in what Israel is doing in the Gaza Strip and to Gazans.

When Hamas Resistance fighters attacked Israel, Mr. Biden made it his sacred mission to step up his support for Israel by offering the Occupation State unprecedented financial, political and expertise support.

Biden first announced, and got Congress approval for $14.5bn foe Israel. The colossal sum of money gives the impression that tiny Israel is fighting another superpower, not “terrorists”, as it calls Hamas.

Of course, this is aside from the annual $4bn that Israel gets in military aid from the Christian American taxpayers. Some of the extra windfall came in the form of military equipment, including the top line bombs from Christian American defense weapons that are being used by Israel to kill, maim and displace Palestinians across the Gaza Strip.

The idea of “shared” values between Tel Aviv and Washington raises questions:
<><>what is the shared noble values that both capitals have in common?
<><>What US interests compel it to support Israel?
<><>What is the single US interest in the death of more than 15,000 Palestinians
<><>what kind of shared US interest is served by repeatedly displacing over 1 million Palestinians after denying them food, medicine, water, medical care and safe shelter?

Over the last 75 years of its bloody history, Israel has not only enjoyed, as Mr. Biden said, “iron-clad” military commitment of Christian US, but its political protection on any international stage wherever Israel is called out, for whatever disaster it has committed.

Israel never stops committing the kind of ugliness unimaginable in the 21 century, like what it is doing in Gaza, always counting on “Christian America’s” help.

“He bombs everything all the time”: WH said to be fuming at ‘madman’ Netanyahu
Me-First Israel is undermining Trump’s brilliant foreign policy
The Times of Israel ^ | July 20, 2025 | Lazar Berman
Posted on 7/20/2025, 4:17:18 PM by McGruff

The White House is alarmed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decisions in Syria, multiple officials in US President Donald Trump’s administration were quoted Sunday as saying, branding the premier a “madman” and “a child who just won’t behave.”

“Bibi acted like a madman. He bombs everything all the time,” a White House official was cited as saying by the Axios news outlet, using the premier’s nickname. “This could undermine what Trump is trying to do.”

Israel began carrying out strikes on Syrian troops rolling into Sweida on Tuesday after local government forces were accused of killing scores of people in the Druze city of Sweida, and on Wednesday the IDF struck key buildings in Damascus.

“The feeling is that every day there is something new. What the F*^$?” said a second senior US official after an Israeli tank shell hit a church in Gaza, killing three people, in what the IDF says was a CYA “mistake.”

While Trump did not publicly address the strike on Gaza’s only Catholic church, he held an angry phone call with Netanyahu and demanded that he release a statement expressing “regret” over the incident, which the premier did a short while later.

Democrats panic;there’s no accurate polling of Jewish voters
because there are too few Jews in the country
So why the endless US tax dollar giveaways to get the ‘Jewish vote”?
World Israel News ^ | 5/24/24 | Daniel Greenfield

After tossing Jewish voters overboard to accommodate the Hamas supporters of Dearborn, Michigan, the Democrats are starting to get nervous about the choice they made.

Despite the roll-out of the campaign, beginning with Senator Schumer’s floor speech blasting Israel, and various liberal Jewish surrogates, including Rep. Jerry Nadler, vocally opposing the campaign against Hamas, the Democrats did not manage to sell Jews on Biden’s betrayal.

Biden’s declaration that he would stop providing military support to Israel if it continued to pursue Hamas into Rafah touched off a major backlash from donors, like Haim Saban, from celebrities, like Michael Rappaport, who has said he could vote for Trump, and ordinary Jews.

While there’s no accurate polling of Jewish voters because there are too few Jews in much of the country to be captured by conventional polls and polls specifically surveying Jews are usually run by leftist groups, Democrats have suddenly begun to sweat the Jewish vote.

Approximately 1.8 million Jewish adults, just under one-third
of the total Jewish electorate, live in twenty-five Democrat congressional districts.

National Profile of the Jewish Electorate, May 2020

Of the top twenty-five districts by Jewish population, nearly half are in New York — NY10, NY-3, NY-12, NY-17, NY4, NY-9, NY-6, NY-8, and NY11.

The remaining districts with Jewish populations are found in seven states including Florida, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. FL-21 has the greatest number of Jewish adults at 152,000.

With the exception of NJ-4, these districts are represented by Democrats and all but two (NJ-4 and NJ-5) are Democratic-leaning districts.

US Jews contribute half of all donations to the Democratic Party

A new study argues that the large majority of American Jews have a deep-seated notion that being Jewish is inextricably bound to being liberal.

That idea took hold after the large waves of Jewish immigration to the US in the late 19th century, according to the study’s author, American history professor Gil Troy.

American Jewish liberalism and association with the Democratic party is showing no signs of abatement, despite many predictions to the contrary since Ronald Reagan’s presidency, according to Troy’s research, which is being published by the Ruderman Family Foundation’s Program for American Jewish Studies at the University of Haifa.
