Mamdani is a naturalized citizen. He is also a communist and a supporter of Islamic terrorism. As such, he has violated his oath of citizenship. The Federal government can revoke Mamdani’s citizen status as was done to Communists, former Nazis, and gangsters. While presumably President Trump was joking about the dreadfully unfunny Rosie O'Donnell (native born to citizen parents, one of whom was born overseas), it is a tool that can be used to prevent an open communist from taking the leadership in this country's largest city.
