When my eyebrows rise up....I check for a Stinger.
Something Chinese would certainly fit with the democrats and CA these days.
And yes, I know it’s the Bee.
The bear goes back long before 1911—the Bear Flag Revolt (by Americans in California protesting Mexican rule) took place in 1846.
I can only imagine what it is like to sit with these Bee guys and gals in a creative meeting. Probably just as cool as with Buck Henry, Richard Prior, etc.
That last line.🤣
He’s ... smarter than the average bear.
Lumbering across the west
Ruined treasures repossessed
Resurrect the old soul of America
Laws and labour, structures tight
Memories of faded might
Resurrect the old soul of America
And oh The Bear is roving across the west
When I was a student at Occidental College, I had a history professor who complained that th Bear Flag is racist. That year, Sen. George Murphy (R-Calif.), a solid conservative, was running for re-election. One of his bumper stickers was shaped like a bear. As a prank, I considered putting one of those on his office door. However, I couldn’t figure out how to do it unseen, and if I had succeeded, as one of the few conservatives on the campus, I would have been a prime suspect.
I am following the Bee stories. This particular story is brilliantly simple satire at its best. Thanks for posting.
