Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov held a high-level meeting with senior executives from U.S. defense contractor Raytheon on May 19, focusing on expanding collaboration in air and missile defense systems, particularly the Patriot platform.

In a statement released after the talks, Umerov said he had a “productive meeting” with Joseph DeAntona, Raytheon’s Vice President for Land and Air Defense Systems. The conversation, he noted, centered on Ukraine’s urgent need for additional missile systems and interceptors to strengthen the country’s defenses against continued Russian air attacks.

“The main topic was strengthening the protection of Ukraine’s skies,” Umerov said. “We discussed the critical need for additional systems and missiles. This is a national priority — the protection of our people, critical infrastructure, cities, and villages.”

As long as Ukraine pays for it.

I like other countries paying to do testing of our tech so we can keep improving it for when the time comes that we need it to protect us.

This is controlled by Congress thru The Pentagon.

Articles like this really do poi t to America beciming War, Inc.

No controlling aurhority... countries just buy off the shelf what they want, but this a lie.

Joint US Mikitary Asdistance Group - Ukraine under the US Embassy, with diplomatic immunity, work with the host nation to get their requests aporoved.

I spent 3 years of my professional life handling the MAG Chief’s message an cable traffic, building jets and tanks “indigiusenly” for the country. Their tank was built in the US and then shipped for testing and further dev.

These sales are second and third county sales.

Ukraine wants an economy... built on defense industries, and orotected by the US Military.

Not another dime, not another trigger for further involvement.

By this time tomorrow, Trump will realize Russia recognizes him as a direct participant cobducting NATOs war against Russia... After 12:00 noon habg up on the red line, Russia is going to i form Ukraine the constraints of a special military operation is going to move to a new phase where removal if the political leadership in Kiev is actively pursued. The conflict will see a new intensity from Russia. People who dismissed Russia economucally and militarily will be keft wondering WTF just happened. In a nutshell, Putin will have unmasked every politican in the west, incl Trump.

No new talks until October.... gonna be a hot summer in hell for the west.

Zelensky better bring a boat l load of gold bullion with him to the meetings.

Raytheon is not in the charity biz and they don't accept checks.

Many of us already knew this, the corrupted Western MSM never covered it. This war began in 2014 when Nuland and McCain engineered the presidential coup, the Ukie Nazis started shelling the Russian Donbass….and here we are today.

Well, of course.

What did you expect to happen? I mean, ain't that the purpose of this war? Blow up equipment, kill people, and work out a deal with Raytheon for billions in replacements.

What a plan. Works great -- especially when we've paid for most of it!

If I were Raytheon, I’d want them to pay up-front. Can’t trust Ukraine to pay back what they owe.

Now that the war seems to be likely to be escalating, the Ukrainian mineral deal that Trump got the Ukraine to execute may start to show it's true worth for the Ukrainian people.

Although it commits the US to nothing, to a certain degree it prevents Zelensky from selling the Ukraine's natural resources to foreign vultures for pennies on the dollar to fund his futile, losing war effort.

Note to Zelensky - never negotiate a commitment without definitized terms when when you could be in a future bind and the other side may have the leverage to squeeze you.

Zlenesky may just find out in the near future that the incredibly generous original deal terms offered by Trump are no longer on the table and the new terms are not quite so favorable when the Russian army is knocking on the door to Kiev and the EU is not answering Zelensky's desperate speed dialing.

I have had close ties to our military for decades, I always scratched my head when friends/ aquaintances were constantly being assigned to Ukraine.

We were shipping weapons, training, designing fortifications in Ukraine at least a decade before the war started.

Everything about Ukraine stinks, for decades.

What is Raytheon's war aim? Their exit strategy?

There is of course no exit strategy because the war aim is making money.

As long as putler keeps attacking Ukrainian cites with drones and missiles, Ukraine will continue to be one of the world’s best places for “real world” R&D for companies like Raytheon to test and improve their products.

And also the best advertising in the world, too, if Raytheon’s products are successful.

If putler’s aggression is rewarded and he is allowed to keep what he’s stolen/taken by force, then similar nations will do to their neighbors as putler is doing to his.

And Raytheon’s products will become even more necessary for countries who have historically belligerent and aggressive neighbors as with the “former” Soviet Russians and see the need to protect themselves.

None of this would be happening if putler would have kept it in his pants and left his army at home. And it all ends if putler packs up his war and takes it back home.

And we all know that’s not going to happen, just as we know that no sane person would chose to surrender to the Russians and to then endure once again all that would happen to them if they did.

Freedom’s worth fighting for and companies like Raytheon sell freedom.

Exactly. The propaganda war used to divide the Ukrainians and Russians was very significant too.

We have arrived at the same place; the auto correct inserts bs or refuses politically incorrect words... and pecking out on a small screen is hard but as the technology prevents your own words you have to give up spell checker when its political checker too.
