Did you happen to meet my good friend with the initials R V and signed everything just “R”? He was a free lance author and went and camped with you guys for a few weeks to see what it was all about. Ex Marine and was later editor in chief of a major gun rag.
I agree...
I love that area. Had some of the best times of my life out there. I remember driving up to some overlook from McCain Valley and being able to see across to Carizzo Gorge and the old SDA&E railway and the old abandoned boxcars that went over the side. I made up my mind I would hike out to that trestle someday. It took me a year or so but I eventually did it. Twice. One of the coolest things I’ve ever been able to do.
Felt like a big shake at LAX? Lets see, straight line that put you at about 115 miles from this quake.

Cool... :)
The Minutemen Project was probably the First group. The Campo Minutemen had some connection to Freerepublic. Several other groups and Local land owners would team up for specific operations. It was Fun Chaos but Border Patrol ran the show but definitely liked the extra ‘eyes’.
OK, that makes sense... He went down there for the first crew I think. But do check that article, he wrote for anyone and everyone who would buy for awhile there. Until he got his sit down job with the gun rag. He had a show on the outdoor channel for awhile also where they trashed guns... :)
I am in north San Diego county, and, yes, I felt it. I would say it was one of the larger and longer quakes I have felt.
This is the first earthquake I can remember that something fell off a bookcase.
My neighbor had some things fall off a shelf, too.
Freaked her dog out.
Her fish tanks were sloshing around.

Near LAX...LA AFB, actually. I'm in a 4-story building on the 4th floor.
El Segundo? Still, I would estimate that at approximately 115 miles straight-line to the quake epicenter.
