President Trump Doubles Down: “We MUST HAVE Greenland, It’s Not a Question of Can We Do Without It, We Can’t”

If you think President Trump is just goofing around about Greenland or just using it for some sort of negotiation leverage, you would be wrong.

And President Trump

FULL TRANSCRIPT:

We need Greenland, very importantly, for international security. We have to have Greenland.

It’s not a question of “Do you think we can do without it?” We can’t.

If you look at Greenland right now, if you look at the waterways, you have Chinese and Russian ships all over the place.

And we’re not going to be able to do that. We’re not relying on Denmark or anybody else to take care of that situation.

Here’s a longer clip with even stronger language:

Even BioClandestine, who usually has a very strong read on things, is intrigued by the way President Trump is approaching this….

Rare Earth minerals?

Military need?

Trade routes?

All of the above?

What do you think?

Are you on board with President Trump’s aggressive stance on Greenland?

In related news, JD Vance is in Greenland today…

They’re pulling out all the stops and playing to win on this one, trust me:

Vice President JD Vance Calls Out Denmark During Visit To Greenland

Vice President JD Vance called out Denmark during his visit to Greenland on Friday.

Greenland is currently part of the government of Denmark but has "wide-ranging autonomy, which was extended in 2009."

Vance, while speaking to Greenlanders, shared, “Our message to Denmark is very simple. You have not done a good job by the people of Greenland.”

Vance later pitched the idea of Greenland joining the United States and shared, “coming under the United States’ security umbrella than you have been under Denmark’s security umbrella,”

Check out what CNN reported:

Vice President JD Vance on Friday made the highest-profile case to date for American control of Greenland during a controversial visit to the semiautonomous island, which its residents had resisted and its leaders said was unwelcome.

“We want to have good relationships with everybody,” Vance said during a visit to an American military installation high above the Arctic Circle. “But part of having good relations is showing your strength when you have to.”

It was the clearest message yet to Greenlanders who have been watching with anxiety as President Donald Trump vows to acquire their land “one way or another.” Vance, who only decided in the last few days to make the trip, said Denmark had neglected its territory and that America could no longer ignore Russian and Chinese alleged designs on the island.

“Our message to Denmark is very simple,” Vance said. “You have not done a good job by the people of Greenland.”

He repeatedly claimed the island was vulnerable and that the United States had “no other option” than to ramp up its presence there.

Greenland would be better off “coming under the United States’ security umbrella than you have been under Denmark’s security umbrella,” he said, saying it was the “policy of the United States” to see changes to the island’s Danish leadership.

Per BBC:

JD Vance wasted little time before launching into a heavy dressing down of Denmark. As expected, he blasted the Nordic country for what he claimed was decades of neglecting military spending and investment in Greenland’s security architecture. He said Denmark had left the region vulnerable to Russian and Chinese encroachment.

However, he was keen to spell out that the US "argument is not with the people of Greenland, but with the leadership of Denmark".

It was notable that the tone was softer, and Trump’s threats to annex the territory were downplayed, with Vance instead repeating that the United States supported Greenland’s right to self-determination - but that an independent Greenland should partner the United States. One Danish reporter said Vance had used a bit of a "good cop, bad cop" by saying that the US has no problem with the Greenlanders.

Though the speech trashed Denmark, there was a nervousness beforehand that it might have been worse. This wasn’t, at least, an escalation.

And there were no plans for enlarging the American military footprint in terms of troops on the ground or more bases, though he did comment that the US would carry out more investment in more icebreakers and naval ships.

Greenland is in a strategic military location. Plus it is virtually unexplored for minerals, oil and whatever else is under all that ice cap.

Odd. If China is such a threat that we need Greenland, stop empowering them with trade and allowing them to get a free pass on covid, steal tech, steal ip and other crimes.

Stop kissing Xi's ass. Musk and the rest of the tech bros have a huge footprint in communist china, perhaps ending trade with them is the proper order instead of seizing another part of a country.

Good strategy. We will end up having total control of the waters around Greenland. Hopefully.

For a conservative site, it’s kind of strange how many isolationists with no idea of how the world really is, sound off loudly and showcase their ignorance.

Was that anything like the hat Monica wore when she went to the Oval Office?

This is something I couldn’t have guessed would be on Trump’s agenda. Weird.

Oh, I had to look and look for her in a hat and I found it! I forgot about that hat it was way cuter than Ben's. 😆 No, that is not the one. Actually, Franklin was not around for the Louisiana Purchase, he lived till 1790, Louisiana Purchase was 1803 but it looked like the style of those days and he 'looked the part' in that hat. Btw he did not dress like that here only in France to schmooze them and it worked. Come to think of it, Monica and Ben had that much in common... Monica-and-Bill

Yes. This is probably very close to the endgame desired here, in realistic terms.

This Greenland crap must be a red flag to divert our attention from the district judges blunting most of his EO’s.
I care a lot more about what we are doing domestically than what China might do if they snuggle up to Greenland. What’s the the point of pissing away $1T/yr on our military if we can’t kick some booty without having to have bases and troops all over the world?

According to “The Art of the Deal”, you demand more than what you actually want, then ‘settle’ for what you wanted in the first place.

That is what’s happening. He doesn’t want Greenland. He wants Greenland protected from the Russians, Chinese, whoever.

This is how he works..................

Trump has enough problems domestically without giving the Rats the ammo to impeach him again.

We don’t need Greenland.

The whole idea is so idiotic that it can only be psy-ops for foreign media consumption.
