A series of swatting incidents targeting conservative commentators and journalists have transpired nearly every evening since March 11, according to X posts in which the victims shared video surveillance footage and photos of the events, sparking questions as to who is engaging in what Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) called “domestic terrorism and attempted murder.” FBI Director Kash Patel, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem have also reacted to the wave of dangerous crimes.
The term “swatting” refers to an anonymous attacker targets someone by making a false call to emergency services — using anonymous tools like Google Voice or VPNs to make it appear the call is coming from a certain location — and telling authorities a murder or hostage event is transpiring at a particular address. Swatting is designed to prompt SWAT teams to arrive at the targeted home and descend on unsuspecting victims, which in the past has lead to deadly encounters and murder charges for the offender.
At the time of this writing, at least 15 figures in conservative politics and media have reported being swatted within the course of one week.
The string of swatting incidents seemingly began on the evening of March 11, with InfoWars reporter Chase Geiser revealing in an early morning March 12 X post that six to eight “police officers used a PA system to call me by name and order me to walk out of my house.”

This is what civil war looks like now.
The effectiveness of these swattings suggests to me that there is insider help from law enforcement in creating these calls.
Don’t excuse over-zealous LEO’s that want to play dress up and use their toys. SWAT should never be called until an officer is on scene and made an evaluation.
This is also dangerous for swat teams who may start second guessing unconsciously whether calls are real, putting them in potential danger.
Also, this costs depts a lot of money scrambling to false calls and slows response to real calls if SWAT teams are spending time at a fake calls.
This is a serious offense.
So, why aren’t the perps arrested?
Conviction of people who make swatting calls should bring a mandatory death penalty.
None of these should ever have been acted upon.
Unvalidated phone calls from unknown people do not deserve no knock break-ins by your local SWAT.
Start putting these SOBs doing the swatting in jail. They’ll stop.
It’s impossible to tell from this report if any SWAT units were actually deployed. In several of the image, you can see patrol deputies/officers making contact with the victims, which is probably what happened in most, if not all cases.
The callers are using VOIP spoofing, so the caller ID showing on the 911 corresponds to the victim’s address. The particulars of the calls can differ, but invariably the call will involve:
1. An emergent, time-critical element
2. A significant risk of harm to innocent people
3. The presence/use of firearms or explosives
4. Very often a “domestic violence” component
Those elements are chosen to leverage legal mandates that have been put in place over the past 20 years regarding domestic violence, and tactics developed to address real crimes involving armed barricaded suspects. It’s doubtful that your local PD or Sheriff department has the resources to identify, let alone trace spoofed VOIP phone numbers, but it’s a safe bet that the NSA could figure that out with a few keystrokes. Not a big fan of the Patriot Act, but since we have it, maybe this is a good time to put it to use?
I agree with the people who say it should be as serious a charge as attempted murder. It would be very easy for someone to be killed.
IF this had been done to Dems during the Biden administration, they’d be calling it nationalist domestic terrorism
Whenever they eventually identify the perp(s), arrest using full SWAT teams.
“This is also dangerous for swat teams who may start second guessing unconsciously whether calls are real, putting them in potential danger.”
Not to mention the complacency in another direction. An old IRA tactic was to set an ambush by causing an event that would cause the Brits to respond.
Someday a SWAT team will walk right into an ambush... probably in the form of an IED.
But keep ignoring the source of the swatting fellas.
It should be handled as such, and not merely as a police matter.
And go after the commanders not just the foot soldiers who get caught.
seems like the first thing a local department would do when receiving a call like this is to first call the damn house and ask to speak to everyone there to see if they tell the same story ... no extra “element of surprise” is lost by doing this than occurs when a large number of men suddenly prowl around a dark house with flashlights and Armalites while peaking in the windows ...
departments that send practically their entire force screaming to a random house before doing a few seconds of common sense checking are simply WAY TOO GUNG HO for their own good and the good of innocent civilians ...
