The United States is seeing a much-needed break from the inflation crisis under President Trump. Recent announcements show a noticeable decline in inflation rates, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent forecasting a drop to the Federal Reserve’s target of 2%. At 3% now, the decrease represents a shift in policy and economic measures that appear to be working. For a nation long plagued by high prices, this shift offers hope that relief might be on the way.
It’s clear that inflation has been a significant issue over the last few years. The high prices of goods and services have left Americans stretching every dollar. Yet, the recent trends show a positive change. Groceries are becoming more affordable. The price of eggs, once skyrocketing, has plummeted from $8.17 in March 2025 to $5.51. This dramatic drop isn’t just a random shift; it’s the result of careful economic management. Everyday products that families need have become slightly less burdensome on their wallets.

oil has fallen - and some interest rates
Walmart - no decline of prices
The Krogers and Meijers near me used to be open 24 hours. I think it would be a good sign if they, among others, returned to being open 24 hours.
I have seen no fall of any prices. Everything is spiraling out of control. Insurance being the worst. A buggy of groceries used to be about $100-200 now they are close to $300. I hope things turn around soon because my raises at work aren’t keeping up with this. Rome wasn’t built in a day, I understand and i certainly don’t blame trump because he inherited a mess of an economy where we are several trillions in debt. Mass deport the 75 million illegals and their spawn and we will see relief. Only that can help us. Anything else is just makeup on the pig.
I’m no rocket scientist, but it’s dumb to be lowering interest rates right now. Inflation is still a thing in my neck of the woods.
Stop killing chickens.
Heck, it took Joe Pedo FOUR YEARS to run them up!
when the markets lower rates by buying bonds, i pay attention. i think there has been bond buying due to slower economic activity - so a flight to safety - and focus on decline in energy pxes which affects just about every product price-so lowe inflation ahead. this move in the bond markets is a reversal of the move UP in bond yields that happened when the Fed LOWERED rates. the bond markets are smarter than the Fed- as we know now that the Fed was premature in last fall’s moves. “no one” is doing this but the forces of the marketplace. if yields on 10-yr fall well into 3% area that will need interpretation - a precursor to a Fed move? a recession? stay tuned.
It was stupid killing entire flocks...And...cooking to 165 degrees kill the bug....in eggs and chicken.
You will never see a price reduction, just slower increase. Back when I was a kid, McDonald’s cost for Hamburg, french fries and coke was 35 cents. A candy bar was 5 cents. Movies on Saturday afternoon about 50 cents.
Let’s just say that the trump golden age can’t kick in fast enough.
In North Houston the cost of gasoline yesterday was $2.38 a gallon at Sam’s club.
That is down thirty cents or so since January
I don’t think that prices will generally go down, but we did just pay around $6.50 for 18 large eggs at the store.
And you probably got paid less than $3 an hour.
The adults are in charge!!! Thank you God!!
Prices are down noticeably at my local Safeway. They had been sky-high, and some still are, but lots of sales and reductions.
I’m 100% with you on that.
I think I can verify that, for the most part, Walmart prices have not decreased as I go there every week & am pretty much in touch with the ir prices.
A lot of stores (Krogers, Meijers, Walmart, etc.) were looking to eliminate 24/7 service because between the security and staff, combined with low sales, it really wasn’t profitable. Covid finally gave them an excuse to do it. It’s going to take a lot of public complaints for them to reconsider at this point.
I can’t speak for your area, but where I live the Walmart is staffed 24/7, even though the doors are closed and I cannot shop there. Many Meijers are in the same situation, even though the gas is usually still (technically) 24/7.
