The Demo party was full of nutcases of all stripes. Commie trash to ole’ Roosevelt2 supporters. When even the most stupid Demo supporter saw that the entire party had surrendered to the commie trash they voted for the only candidate who wasn’t commie trash — DJT. Mind, the Libertarians had shown their true colors by promoting a commie and the Greens have always been that way.
So, it was any of a pack of overt communists or DJT. In other words death to you and all your descendants or someone you’d been told was bad — told by the same areaseholes who support commie trash.
Some leftists actually can think for themselves, and not be “Partei Uber Alles”.
Australia is a very strange place, and deceptively so. My daughter and grandchildren live there, and I am somewhat familiar with it. Although they speak English, sort of, and imitate American customs, albeit laggingly, they are actually fundamentally different from us. (1) They are very orderly and conformist, even when rebelling against the establishment, yet tolerant at the same time. (2) They are astonishingly good natured and consistently humorous. (3) They have good sense in most things, even if they are what we would see as naïve in other areas.
Maybe it has something to do with the history of how it was populated?
Maybe they had to be pragmatic and use good sense just to survive early on.

He’s really just stating the obvious: Trump wants the bloodshed to end, and Zelensky is too dug-in to allow that. Trump won’t pay him to continue the bloodshed, and that is effective diplomacy.
There’s a gal I work with who has her hair dyed “radically”. It’s her way to say that she’s a rebel. But she’s actually a wonderful person. Had a really rough home life and it’s impacted her in ways she probably doesn’t fully understand, but she cares about people and she’s not stupid. She’s most likely liberal but somebody you could discuss with, and I think this guy is probably the same. The hair and politics are the identity they’ve chosen, but they haven’t disconnected their eyes and brains like so many have.
I know several leftists who voted for Trump. Why? Because Trump having not so long ago been a Democrat is a National Populist. Not a Republican or Conservative or Libertarian. The populist part will give him alignment with some lefty causes such as unions, trade protection, health care spending and insurance, social security. Many on the left old school democrats don’t support the alphabet causes. Take a traditional Catholic Democrat.
